hey, i am looking to buy a laptop that will let me play most games on dolphin at reasonable speeds. preferably from http://www.compusa.com

Hyperthreading... not really...
Hmm, AFAIK it will run most games flawlessly... maybe Super Mario Galaxy will run around 95% speed with lowest settings, but the rest of the compatible games will easily run full speed with TurboBoost enabled. Try getting a cheaper laptop for that price.
