Questions about OpenGL & frameskip - CRAZY_PALADIN - 03-12-2011 So I've been playing with dolphins for a while, and there's 2 problems always confusing me. 1. OpenGL plugin doesn't work in many builds. When I choose to use OpenGL plugin and start a game, dolphin simply freezes. There's no error message, and eventually after I kill the process, there's no exceptioninfo.txt either. This happens to EVERY build from dolphin-emu.org and EmuCR site. But for some reason, Lectrode's builds (with SSE4.1 Optimizations for x86) always work well. I tried to update the DotNet thing and the video card driver, and I'm pretty sure my card (even it sucks) has full OpenGL support. 2.Frameskip doesn't work. From my understanding, the whole point of frame skipping is to archive full speed at the cost of smoothness. But when I set frameskip to 1, it simply cuts my fps in HALF, but the game is still in slow motion. For example, Soul Calibur 2(PAL) runs only like 35, and the game speed is only 70%. When I set it to 1, the game runs at like 18, but the speed is still 70%, and it's slow. Same thing happen to other game like Kirby's Epic Yarn. I don't know what goes wrong... So can anyone help me ? RE: Questions about OpenGL & frameskip - CRAZY_PALADIN - 03-15-2011 Sorry for bumping, but anyone know anything? Any sugesstions? RE: Questions about OpenGL & frameskip - Squall Leonhart - 03-15-2011 upgrade your graphics drivers. RE: Questions about OpenGL & frameskip - parasite64 - 03-15-2011 If OpenGL doesn't work for you, try using DirectX and see if that makes a difference? |
