64-bit vs. 32-bit - dmeagher101 - 03-07-2011

Hi, I'm curious if I should run Dolphin in 64 or 32 bit mode. I'm curious if using 64 bit only helps if you have an exceptionally powerful system, and if it hinders performance on lower end systems (which I have). Check out my specs below.

Desktop
Dolphin r7283
Mac OS X Snow Leopard
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
1 GB RAM 667 DDR2 SDRAM (I know, I'm trying to upgrade soon)
ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro w/ 256 MB

Laptop
Same version of Dolphin and OS
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz
2 GB RAM 1067 DDR3
Nvidia GeForce 9400M w/ 256 MB VRAM shared with memory

64-bit is faster and should not slow anything down.

You should probably get at least 2 GB tho

RE: 64-bit vs. 32-bit - Duke Nukem - 04-22-2011

I really hope the 32-bit era is dead soon.
Been using 64-bit for quite a while now and I ain't looking back ever again.
I can admit that I still use some 32-bit software like PCSX2 but it's an exception.

I'm only using 32-bit fully at work, but someday I hope we can enjoy 64-bit and Windows 7 for that matter because Visual Studio 2010 and XP ain't matching.
