Where's the sticky about connecting a real wiimote? - hypnotoad - 03-05-2011 I got my bluetooth set up, and hit the 1 and 2 buttons on the wiimote, while hitting the "Pair Up" in Dolphin. It just froze up. I tried to test the wiimote's input, but DesignerWPF also froze up. Then I tried BlueSoleil. That got DesignerWPF to work. It was receiving all the wiimote signals. Then when I clicked Dolphin's "Pair Up" I got a warning message box, saying: Quote:"A supported bluetooth device was not found! I thought that's what I was using in the first place. It was just the bluetooth driver that came with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Are people getting real wiimotes to work? How? It seems complicated enough, that there should be a big sticky on it... Thank you. RE: Where's the sticky about connecting a real wiimote? - Squall Leonhart - 03-05-2011 bluesoliel replaces the windows bluetooth stack. you don't even need to hit pair up. hold 1 and 2 till the lights start blinking then in the bluetooth device manager add the wiimote device without a pairing code. after that you just go into dolphin, set it to real wii-mote and it should pair up by itself with just the refresh button :\... it did for me. all of the past 10 times i've done it. RE: Where's the sticky about connecting a real wiimote? - inteGReddy - 03-05-2011 why use bluesoleil? i dont get it. i just press 1 + 2, hit pairup in dolphin and let it install the driver. With BlueSoleil, the wiimote setup page accepted only a few bits of input from the wiimote. Only some motions from the remote and nunchuck, but none of the buttons worked, and the IR didn't work. Well, I uninstalled it. I'll try to get this "stack" thing going. RE: Where's the sticky about connecting a real wiimote? - hypnotoad - 03-05-2011 I may be getting somewhere. I got the Microsoft Bluetooth thing back, by just removing and re-plugging the dongle. Then it re-installed the drivers. I connected a genuine wii remote, not the counterfeit one I got for $16, including shipping. Added it to bluetooth places. Then I got the Dolphin config window to show 1 wiimote connected. ![]() But it only showed the keyboard, and wouldn't take any input. Yes, I tried refreshing numerous times, and re-connecting it. It does vibrate when I hit refresh. ![]() That was on an older version: R6156. Then I tried V2. Same: ![]() Then R7271. Same. ![]() Well, at least it's not crashing. Let me see if it works with the pirated wiimote. RE: Where's the sticky about connecting a real wiimote? - DarkSharingan - 03-05-2011 @ Hypnotoad I think you have misunderstood something. When your using a real Wiimote, you are NOT supposed to configure the emulated wiimote; that is only for if you are using the keyboard and mouse. With a real Wiimote all you have to do is connect it (making sure input source is set to "real wiimote") and then your off to play
RE: Where's the sticky about connecting a real wiimote? - hypnotoad - 03-05-2011 I see. Never would have thought. It seems like a good time to let you customize your buttons, in case you don't like the defaults. That's what Dolphin is all about, right? Enabling you to play like you want to... After some crashes, and a reboot, I finally got it to work, for a whole 30 seconds. Then, it seemed to disconnect. The guy just kept running, and wouldn't respond. Couldn't connect it again to any of the versions. Tried new batteries. Got it to work again on 7271 for 20 seconds. Then, again, I couldn't get it to work on any version. I have to give up now, and get back to bed. Thanks for your help. ![]() I wonder if anyone's thought of a battery meter. That WiiMote Testing Application has one. Oh, now I can't get that to work, either. I'm back where I started. What went wrong here? RE: Where's the sticky about connecting a real wiimote? - haroculo - 06-01-2011 Similar problem here... I downloaded the latest Dolphin version, use windows 7 ultimate 64 bits and a bluetooth dongle. Using dolphin 32 bits (Already tried 64 bits previous versions) but I couldnt connect my wiimote to dolphin. It is recognized by windows, but dolphin doesnt notice it. Using older version it worked but for short periods of time. Any hint? Thank again for the attention RE: Where's the sticky about connecting a real wiimote? - UrbanShaman - 06-01-2011 I'm using the newest rev , 64 bit win 7 and bluesoleil, because my wiimote is a chinese copy, but with bluesoleil it recognizes as a regular wii controller. what i've found is you have to do things in a certain order. first connect it in windows, then open your emulator. when/if the wiimote eventually disconnects (does it with me every now and then, very annoying) , refresh it in the wiimote menu, hit alt+f5 to disconnect and alt+f5 again to reconnect and it should work again. |
