Dead Space: Extraction FPS issues. - Mkilbride - 02-08-2011 So I followed a guide I saw on a YouTube video: Quote:My settings for the emulator are; Doing this made me go from about 15 FPS in the intro to 26-30FPS, but when going out to the Marker at the start, my FPS is ranging from 10-13FPS...basically unplayable. Now, I know my rig is out-dated and all, but I saw someone on a freaking OEM computer much weaker than mine claiming he obtained 25-30FPS with his rig. Q6600 @ 3.4GHZ 4GB PC8000MHZ GeForce GTX280 super-clocked Windows 7 64-bit Lots of free HDD space. Running the latest build that didn't have any notable issues in the little note section. x64 edition of course. Thanks. Using the build he uses in the video provides glitchy audio, but an increase of 5-7 FPS, and I see effects I didn't see in a later build, but text placement is all odd, too, unlike the video. Hmm, this is tough stuff. I guess my rig just isn't powerful enough, maybe if I clean it off and re-apply some thermal paste, I can push it abit further, but I'm just guessing that's how it is. RE: Dead Space: Extraction FPS issues. - kylebisme - 02-09-2011 I just got the game the other day and have been struggling to find a good configuration for it too. Performance is decent on my i7 920 @ 3.8 GHz and GTX 260, dropping to 20fps at worst, but I get various graphical glitches depending on the settings in all the builds I've tried. For example sake, here is 7111 (x64), all default settings except for EFB Copy set to Texture and Accurate Texture Cache set to Safe: [attachment=5384] Do you get graphics errors on the bottom third of your screen like that, and if not what version of Nvidia's drivers are you running? Also, best I can tell, the game has no need for CPU access to the EFB, so perhaps turnning that of might get the game running a little quicker for you, though it doesn't seem to change anything either way on my rig. |
