Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Subspace Emissary crashes - apenpaap - 02-04-2011 I am playing the Subspace Emissary mode of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and until the very end it all works fine (except the cutscenes). However, after the last battle a cutscene follows, and after this cutscene the emulator just freezes up. It says it's still running at 100%, though. Did anyone else run across this problem and is there any way to avoid it? RE: Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Subspace Emissary crashes - inteGReddy - 02-04-2011 i dont believe i had any problems playing through the subspace emissary. try setting efb to ram maybe? i dunno. RE: Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Subspace Emissary crashes - apenpaap - 02-08-2011 That didn't fix it, unfortunately. RE: Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Subspace Emissary crashes - Billiard26 - 02-08-2011 "...and until the very end it all works fine (except the cutscenes)." Explain. RE: Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Subspace Emissary crashes - apenpaap - 02-08-2011 Okay, here's what happens in some more detail: When I play the Subspace Emissary mode, the levels all work fine. Every time a cutscene plays, though, it shows the very first cutscene (the one where the camera floats through the clouds and zoom in on a flying stadium where Mario and Kirby have a battle) instead of the correct one. Since the cutscenes are skippable this one doesn't really bother me, though. The problem I started the thread for is what happens when I defeat Tabuu: I get the Stage Clear screen, then a cutscene pops up. Whether I skip it or I don't, I hear a single note of the main menu music, and then the game freezes. The emulator still says 60 FPS, 100% in the main bar, though, and the main emulator window still responds correctly. RE: Super Smash Bros. What you have is the (un)official DVD5 pirate version, where every cutscene has been ripped out and replaced with the very first cutscene. This likely triggers the freeze for some weird reason. An unmodified clean dump of the game shouldn't have this problem and as one user said, he has played the Subspace emissary without issues. RE: Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Subspace Emissary crashes - inteGReddy - 02-08-2011 lol. xtreme beat me to it... i was thinking you had a bad rip as well. brawl ftw! RE: Super Smash Bros.
