? about Frame limiting - ayami6969 - 02-04-2011 OK so on the 1st tab of Dolphin config you have the option to set the frame limit, and right next to that an option to use frames for limiting. Now if I don't put a check in the box but set the frame limit to say 30 the frame rate limits itself to 30. If I set it to thirty and put a check in the box... the frame rate limits itself to 30. So my question is, isn't the "Use framerate for limiting" box just a little bit redundant, or am I missing something? RE: ? about Frame limiting - KHRZ - 02-04-2011 No, if not checked, VPS is used for limiting (which is always 60 per second for fullspeed, no matter what the framerate of the game is) RE: ? about Frame limiting - ayami6969 - 02-04-2011 (02-04-2011, 02:56 AM)KHRZ Wrote: No, if not checked, VPS is used for limiting (which is always 60 per second for fullspeed, no matter what the framerate of the game is) OK perfect answer. So then wouldn't it make more sense to rename the 1st one "VPS limit" rather than have them both say Frame Limit? And if the first one is the VPS limit and it's always 60, then why are you able to choose? And is there any reason at all to use either one over VSync in the graphic options anyway (unless you're playing GC games that need to be 30 fps)? It's just a weird confusing thing about Dolphin that's bothered me for a while. RE: ? about Frame limiting - NaturalViolence - 02-04-2011 V-sync doesn't sync it the same way (it syncs the frontbuffer to the backbuffer). Either use audio throttle, vps limiting, both, or fps limiting. |
