Dolphin Not Starting - Ninja20p - 02-03-2011 It worked the other day, but now everytime I double click dolphin.exe , nothing happens, and if there isn't one, a blank text file named exceptioninfo.txt is created. Dolphin doesn't even appear to run at all when I look in process explorer. Please help
RE: Dolphin Not Starting - Starscream - 02-03-2011 I have no idea what the problem is, but I can tell you that it is your PC's fault and not Dolphin's. RE: Dolphin Not Starting - Xtreme2damax - 02-03-2011 So dolphin crashes immediately when launching the program? That usually means your processor doesn't support SSE2, thus you won't be able to run the emulator. Do you have an AMD Athlon XP by any chance? If so, you won't be able to use the emulator without forking over money for a new processor, or in most cases an entirely new system with modern hardware. Of course this is just speculation, I won't know until you post your system specifications. RE: Dolphin Not Starting - NaturalViolence - 02-03-2011 Quote:a blank text file named exceptioninfo.txt is created Can you please post the contents of that file along with your system specs, which revision, and OS. I got it working after a reboot. But since this computer is a simple laptop from school, it doesn't even contain a graphics card, just an Intel HD chipset. Tweaking the settings I manage to get an average of 12fps in Zelda WW, and TP. Mario Sunshine in isle delfino is 4fps. Obviously 10+fps less than almost playable, im using the latest builds, so all I can do is cross my fingers and hope. Metroid prime games load levels in between doors, so I'm hoping they are playable, or just off playable, I want to have some GC game play at least haha. I was wondering if I am able to sacrifice graphics or sound for more fps, I can live without the same console experience, as long as I get playable speeds. Any help is appreciated. OS is Windows XP CPU is Intel Pentium Dual Core processor U5400 (1.2 GHz, 3MB Cache) GPU is Integrated Intel HD , [dont remember the number] but it shares 1.7 gb of memory amongst the system. RE: Dolphin Not Starting - NaturalViolence - 02-05-2011 Those specs are totally insufficient for achieving playable speed in any game. |
