How to update Dolphin w/o losing saves? - elmnt61 - 01-23-2011

Hi guys, I did search for this topic and found one from 09, but it didn't seem to help. Is there an easy way to download each new version of dolphin, replacing the old one, but saving my saves? Should I be saving my preferences too or is that something that might change with each revision?

Basically i'm asking which folders to save, and how you normally go about doing that.

Thank you!

just copy new rev. over...

(
savegames are in user/wii/title...
copy the entry title folder if you want...
)

Just don't overwrite your User folder.

By the "new rev" do you mean the entire "x64" folder? or the "dolphin.exe"? or what.

Sorry I need clarification. ^_^. Because if I copy "x64," replacing the old one, then the saves get replaced too.

Okay, that I understand... so nothing in the User folder needs to be replaced with each new revision?
