System Evaluation - Iceclaw - 01-14-2011 Currently AMD Athlon X2 BE-2300 Brisbane 1.9GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 ATI 5670 1GB GDDR5 XP 32bit 4GB DDR2 800 Running at native resolution. Not using AA. Would switching to a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Provide a reasonable level of performance in Gamecube/WII games? (Tales of Syphonia, Wind Waker/Twilight Princess/Starfox Assault/NSMB WII) Currently I get 60-70% fps most of the time for Wind Waker. (DX9,Copy->Texture) on a recent revision (within the week). Would I be better off running one of the earlier revisions? Is there some setting I've probably missed tweaking that should handle gamecube games at least? Quote:Would switching to a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W No. But it would double your performance over what you're getting now. WW on the other hand should run fine. As well as NSMB and many of the other lighter games. Most games will still run slow though. As for revisions. WW should be run on 2.0 and most other games I would recommend 6505 for (it's from before the fifo changed so it should be significantly faster).
