Wanna show you something: Fully overclocked GTS 250:

EDIT: Yes I overclocked it Smile! And no, this isn't stable lol...
Good god that's a high pixel fill rate for that card. But you'll never be able to get it stable, you'll fry the card before you can get the voltage high enough to make it stable, and that's IF you can keep it cool enough to keep functioning.

I know, but.. buy a GPU only for dolphin is..... u know.

Would be nice if it was possible to make it stable and cool aye? Big Grin
physx is just useless eye candy.
Obviously Go for HD 5750...
Go to wikipedia and see the comparisons by yourself...
ATI GPU
nVIDIA GPU

Your right, all it does is make the game look more realistic, like dx11. Oh wait....how does that make it useless again?

P.S Yes I do realize this is flamebait, no I do not want to start a flamewar in this thread, and yes I do recommend the 5750. I just don't like it when people post how they hate a particular brand feature WHEN IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE THREAD SUBJECT!

It is possible, you just need to use liquid nitrogen instead of liquid or air cooling.

We've had a lot of people say they've wanted a GPU ONLY FOR DOLPHIN in this forum. As ridiculous as it sounds it does happen. Just saying that dx11 is not a purchasing point when your deciding which gpu will be better for dolphin. Also I get that idea from the way he worded the first post, take a look:

Quote:So, basically my goal is get more FPS on Dolphin, my sys specs are on my signature.

He says nothing about regular gaming so until he does I have to assume he doesn't want it for "regular gaming". Hopefully he'll chime in soon and tell me if this assumption is correct.

But anyways, back on topic. The 5750 is overall a better buy in my opinion. It generally outperforms the 250, has more performance per dollar, and does it with a significantly lower power consumption and thermal output which is what you said you wanted in the first post.
Thanks to all, i buy a HD 5750, im waiting the delivery.

PS: Yes "regular gaming" also...

Greetings
