Can anybody say "facepalm"? I was using the wrong direction of slash mark -.-
It's doing a lot of stuff now (in Terminal). I'll edit this when I try to open a game again.
Edit: HUZZAH! It works! Mostly. I can run the game and all but... It runs at 3% speed. AKA 2 frames per second. Any tips for speeding it up (besides "Get a faster mac"? even though I might be getting a new laptop soon...)

You might be able to get a slight performance boost with changing some settings. Your biggest drawback is the fact that you've got an onboard video card, so the bottom line is, it probably won't get much better than that.
disable efb scaled copy, disable fog, use low resolution.

I am running NGC zelda wind waker at full speed on a 1.4ghz core2duo macbook air, but as you can imagine almost every other game runs at halfspeed or even slower,
would it run faster if i boot windows and use the windows dolphin? or should not I expect a drastic difference?
I ask this because I will be installing windows only for running dolphin, everything that windows does MAC does better

it would be 9000x faster on windows (exaggeration but still a HUGE increase in speed)
