Intel Core i7-620M 2.66 GHz
L2 cache size 4 MB
4 GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
video memory 1 GB
is this Laptop good enough for the best performance while using dolphin?
any 1?
or should i get this ?
processor : Intel i7 820QM Mobile CPU
processor speed : 1.73 GHz
L2 cache size : 6 MB
system memory : 8 GB DDR3 RAM
hard drive capacity : 1 TB
video memory : Dual 1 GB DDR3 RAM
video/graphic chip : ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD4870
i can afford either because both has Installments

any 1?
also i am a bit worried about video cards.
also does the 8 gb of ram imrpoves the preformence to the first laptop if so can any one tell me how much?
the clock speed on i7-980 laptop processor is a bit low , would is still work ? (the highest frequency is said to be 3.06 Ghz).
does the dual ati in the second laptop imrpoves the preformence?
which laptop of those should i buy?
Thanks.
Help some one?

According to my analysis :
CPU - i7-620M (Dual Core) > i7 820QM (Quad Core)
RAM - 8 GB DDR3 > 4 GB DDR3 (hahaha :p)
GPU - HD 4870 > HD 5650
Hard disk - Your choice(Of course

)
Conclusion :=>
Dolphin uses only two cores till date. So go for the dual core CPU. or if you go with other games, quad core MIGHT be good. but, go with i7 620M.
And GPU, your other laptop got some more serious one (HD 4870) than your first one. (HD 5650). So, still I'll say that go with the first one... or go with that suits you better.
AND CONSULT SOME SENIOR MEMBERS (I WANT TO BECOME ONE) BEFORE ACTUALLY BUYING IT...

i am actually furstrated between the 2 processors
i don't know , its my first try on i7s.
if i7 has a stable turbo boost , then i would go for i7-820.
the only thing that worries me is the clock speed and i don't know about i7 turbo boost reputation if its stable or not its said that it can go up to 3 ghz...
the other laptop HD 4870 2 video cards each has 1 Giga which is a good thing but i don't know if dolphin takes advantages of both video cards or if so , would it increase my fps more.
Thanks , i will wait for more opinions/replies and finally decide after.

You have 2xHD 4870...cooooolllllll

but Dolphin can't use 2 graphic card to boost up frames, but it will definitely help in other games...But the problem is Quad core i7 is I am afraid they don't have that quality TurboBoost that you are looking for(my assumption :p) but it is your decision...Wait for some biggies to answer..
I don't know if laptop Core series processors actually have turbo boost, but I think they're unlikely to have it, because overheating is a critical issue on laptops. What's more, 1.7 GHz, even for a quad core proc, is definitely not fast enough nowadays, so the 820QM is a bad deal IMO. I have no idea why they put such a slow processor on such a powerful rig (8 Gb DDR3, 2*4870, 1 TB...) : while the graphics cards will give you a nice boost in modern games, the processor will be likely to dramatically limit the actual in-game performances.

Yes it is. Frequency matters much less than the processor architecture and amount of cache. Even a pentium 4 clocked to 5.5ghz with l.nitrogen will be inferior to a core i3 at 2.5ghz, or even a core 2 duo e8000+/phenom x4 at stock clocks and voltage.
In January I underclocked core i7 950 to run at 1.68ghz by lowering fsb multiplier and it had literally *zero* impact on dolphin performance. The only impact was in extremely heavy applications like crysis warhead or 3dmark 06

See...What I said? Wait for some biggies to answer...
so what do you people suggest?
maybe i could disable thee 2 cores in the second laptop and get to 2.4 Ghz or maybe then i can overclock it to 2.8 ghz.
it says that it can have up to 2.8 ghz by turbo boost.
so that means the laptop may actually be ready for overclocking specially that i would have 8 gb of ram.
what do you guys think?
or should i get the other laptop?
remmber both i can afford because they are for installment.
any 1 help me their? which laptop should i buy?
and does he cache important in dolphin.
and is i7-620 more powerful than intel core P7500 if they have the same clock speed?
or the real i7-620 faster to E7500?
i have E7500 My Self.
the 620M is deffinitely better than P7500.
also, the i7-820QM IS good, i don't know if turbo boost would work correctly or not. according to passmark score(cpu benchmark) this is the ranking.
1. 820QM (~3300points)
2. 620M (~2200poins )
3. E7500 (2000points)
4. P7500 (800 points)
but remember, this is general cpu benchmark, not dolphin benchmark, but i think the 820QM would be better in dolphin as well. I think the only program that is frequency delicate, of course architecture too, is pcsx2, because usually everyone recommends the 620M over the quad i7 lappys for pcsx2. but if you're not willing to play on pcsx2, then buy the 820QM.
