The 2.0 release was branched out , and the only thing that they made was make it stable enough to release it ( no optimizations or anything, It was barely updated because It only was updated with things that the devs considered "stable" )
Really? Well that's something new.
I've always thought this happened on Dolphin because the DeSmuME official builds would always go through this kind of optimization routine that would, in fact, make the emulator faster than the SVN builds.

Not making fun of you but can't people just stop sowing misinformation on the forum
I honestly did not know, so I learned something new.
I've talked about this problem in my thread:
http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-9646.html
Basically, what I've noticed is that lastests builds of dolphin upscale the resolution in direct3D everytime you maximize or play in full screen, in other words, it expends way more hardware in rendering the game at the new resolution, instead of upscaling the image from the native one.
I found that dolphin build r47xx is the fastest. I get at least 50-60 fps in super mario bros wii. Ver 2.0 or build 5xxx performance only 30+ fps.
Recently i upgraded my graphics card from nvidia 8800gt to ati 5770 and surprisingly dolphin performance has drop 10-15fps in direct3d & with opengl it drop 20-25fps!
Btw, my system spec is intel E2180 @ 2.8 ghz, 2gb ram, winxp.
Well there can be regressions and stuff. I did notice some performance improvements as well as slowdowns while swapping builds, although not that much.
I can partially blame it on some developers, but I guess that's just normal for a major open-source project.

The performance between 8800GT and HD5770 is very similar. The only feature of HD5770 is support directx 11. But for this emulator only support directx 9. Also, intel cpu + nvidia display card always get better than AMD/ATI for emulator.
