the same version i posted before should be fine, or anything newer. The important thing is to use a different dolphin installation than your main one because the sysconf file handling is not perfect.

only use it for testing/playing games that use the wii balance board
Gotcha.

Will this eventually be making it into trunk? I don't see anything re: the balance board on Googlecode except the link back to this thread.

It's very exciting to be able to use the balance board at last as it's the only thing left (at least for the games I own) that has kept the original Wii on the shelf.

On behalf of everyone who has been waiting for this, thank you very much.
ill push it as a branch to googlecode sometime in the near future, I don't have a timeline for finishing it and merging to master though
I can understand that. It'll be good to have it a branch as then perhaps others can help.

which build are you testing (the first or second that I posted), are there any other games you can test with?

The patch definitely needs work (detecting a balanceboard in the connection, rather than making the user do the work)
but at least I now know that it kindof works

No the real wiimote take slot 4 and bb always the 1st. Emulated wiimote with keyboard is really boring and ir pointer with mouse stays always on the center of the screen. So its very difficult to navigate in this game.
I'm testing with your last patch.
I just did a quick test for connecting them and it does seem that when connecting the balance board and a real wiimote that the balance board is forced into slot 1 and the real wiimote kicked into slot 4. This even happens when I connect the wiimote to slot 1 before even turning the balance board on.

I haven't had chance to test with a game as I haven't ripped the disc yet.

We must force bb to take the slot 4 to make it work with real wiimote.

I managed to get the BB and real WiiMote connected with the following steps.

1) Set BB to use slot 4
2) Set Slots 1-3 as 'none' and Slot 4 as 'Real Wiimote'
3) Connect the BB.
4) Set Slot 1 as 'Real WiiMote'.
5) Connect the WiiMote.

The WiiMote LED was on Slot 1, the BB had no LED. Dolphin showed '2 Connected'.

When I started the game and came to the sync screen however, it would not detect the BB and the WiiMote started vibrating non-stop.
Try a couple extra steps below.

4.1) Set Slot 2 as 'Emulated WiiMote'.
4.2) Set Slot 3 as 'Emulated WiiMote'.

5) Connect the Real WiiMote.

Let us know if that helps. The two extra emulated wiimotes will "push" the balance board into the fourth slot.
I spent a good thirty minutes tonight trying to get the real wiimote and the balanceboard working together.
It seems that I can get Dolphin to see them both in the correct slots, but as soon as I get to the 'press the power button on the balance board' screen the wiimote gets kicked into slot 4.

I tried adding the emulated remotes as you suggested, but to no avail.
