Cool, thanks for the info, didn't know about that.

We don't support it because the gain is pretty small compared to the requirement of testing our changes on one more compiler. Most of the parts that are heavy on the CPU in Dolphin are either JITed (so ICC won't be able to do any optimization there) or already written using SSE* intrinsics (for example, the texture decoders), so I don't really think ICC would be able to help a lot anyway. I'm still waiting for someone to give me profile traces to compare ICC builds to normal builds and show me which functions were optimized better. My guess is none.
Excellent builds Lectrode. Resident Evil games run great (minus the audio issues)
I get a 25% frame rate increase using these builds on my CoreI7 powered system which is very nice.

Cool. Thx for testing Smile

I had to return my laptop to the school temporarily while I deal with
financial holds on being able to register for next year's classes.

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get this taken care of. I'm working
on resolving this issue as soon as I can. I only hope I can get the
same laptop back, as nearly every other one is in very poor condition
due to having been kept by other students who don't respect
technology >.<

In other news, I added a page to my site with a few batch scripts I've
written over the past few years. You can access via the side-menu
under "Batch Scripts." I don't yet have a url that goes directly to that
page, but I will add it shortly.

.
Wow, I've been looking for a build optimized for my i7 Sandy Bridge processor for a while now. Should have looked here first!

Downloading now and will test out soon!

My impression is that ExtremeDude2's builds use compiles that sacrifice accuracy for speed (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know the fine details of his builds). Simply using compilations for my architecture seems to be my preferred method.

The only question I have is (and please berate me nastily if this has been asked before) why aren't these included along with the rest of the official builds on the home page? In fact, I'm curious if these SSE instructions even gain any performance boost on Dolphin as an application (placebos are cool though =P).

Thanks! Glad you like them Smile

Unfortunately it is somewhat difficult to compile anything when
one does not have a computer to compile it on (More info...)
I am working on getting my computer back.
