Full Version: Dolphin window set to 720p or 1080p isn't actually that size.

I configured the window to be 1280x720, but instead it's 1264x682. I've checked in the Dolphin.ini file to confirm the size is set correctly, and it does say 1280x720 there, but when I check the raw video after finishing recording (OR a screenshot), the source file is 1264x682.

I've tested PCSX2 and an older version of Dolphin, and the resolution was fine there. Bug with this revision? (Using r5449).

Edit:

After testing 1920x1080, the config files state it's 1920x1080, but the actual size is: 1904x1042.

This is weird. And like I mentioned, older versions of Dolphin seem to work fine..

Tested it in r5280, and the screenshots + videos are actually 720p there.
r5336 the culprit?
Might be true. My last video made was in the r51xx series. And r5280 works fine as well, so probably that's the culprit.

Any idea what I can do fix it? Or get it to an actual 1280x720 size?

The problem persists in r5456 too.

[Edit]
Ok, nosound98 has a 720p video up and running, and he recorded it while using r5430. So that doesn't seem to be the issue.
Bumping this with new findings. I have a thread open at another forum too, and someone mentioned that the GUI is part of the 1280x720 window. Well here's my reply:

Quote:Someone else (nosound) is using r5430 and he gets the correct 1280x720 resolution when taking screens or videos with Fraps.

And like I mentioned, it works fine in r5280 for me, so far I tested in r5449 and r5456 and both of those revisions have this problem.

Haven't tested r5430 yet myself, but will test that out too.

The strange part is, why did this never occur in r5280? If it includes the GUI and borders, the same problem should be occurring there as well, but it's not. And that also doesn't explain why the other person does get the actual 1280x720.

I can't seem to find anything wrong in the configuration either. I even tried a clean install of it.

I later on did some more research, and here's what I discovered:

Quote:Setting it to 1296x758 seems to get around the problem.

I checked the resolution of the entire window in Photoshop of r5280, and that's the size given there.

So here's the deal.

In r5280, if you chose "1280x720" as resolution, the GUI was automatically adjusted to 1296x758 to compensate and you'd end up with a proper 1280x720 resolution in the game. But somehow this isn't the case in r5449 and r5456 and above, and you have to manually enter that size.
This is something I've been curious about as I want to have true 1280x720 in windowed mode. I can only set the resolution for full screen. How can I do this? Helps for streaming Dolphin when it's not an irregular 16:9 resolution.
Post moved to the other thread.

I'll lock this thread as it's pointless to necro post in an unrelated thread.
