I don't ban period unless there is an absolute need to, such as if the problem can't be resolved through conventional means. I will usually exert other resources first before resorting to banning. So far no banned members except for spammers/bots.

However that is unrelated to this current topic. Wink
this is a prime example of banning for 'nothing': http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-9156.html
instead of explaining that you need to rip the games, the dude just bans him, like woosh! that's horrible and mercyless. >_<
...
Admin want anyone who has admitted they downloaded their disc image illegally to be instantly banned basically. If you don't like the rules here then I suggest PM'ing choascode, ector, or shuffle2 about it. We mods just do our jobs here, anyways, it is just best to not tell how you obtained the disc image, simple as that.
yeah, but the dude didn't even say such a thing. he only asked where to get the game...couldn't someone just say buy it and close the thread?
but anyway, yeah u just do your job i guess... Undecided
Oh yeah, we do ban for people who ask for roms Tongue, but I thought he had said he downloaded it.
ok, just don't get drunk and start banning everyone in the forum, okay Tongue

Actually that would be very entertaining lol

I completely agree with the rules, people don't realize how delicate a project like this is due to copyrights and Nintendo's asshole. banning morons that openly admit to piracy because they didn't read the rules somehow shows dolphin's support for Nintendo and copyrights in the eyes of a-lot of people including my self as wanna be game developer.

I don't know about you people but i don't wanna hangout on another gbatemp shit.

Technically the dolphin project has no need to 'appease' nintendo as they already tend to think all emulators are illegal and are only used for illegal pirate games.

Quote:Distribution of an emulator developed to play illegally copied Nintendo software hurts Nintendo's goodwill, the millions of dollars invested in research & development and marketing by Nintendo and its licensees. Substantial damages are caused to Nintendo and its licensees. It is irrelevant whether or not someone profits from the distribution of an emulator. The emulator promotes the play of illegal ROMs , NOT authentic games. Thus, not only does it not lead to more sales, it has the opposite effect and purpose.

Since this project exists, you could argue everyone who runs dolphin disagrees with this strict view. Everyone I know irl have a cheap drive that can run or rip wii games & play them on dolphin.

None of us have stolen anything from Nintendo and we're using authentic games bought from store or imported from asia.

Tbh, if you can afford a computer & internet connection, it's a lie that you can't afford $40-$50 per month for a game. If you're poor get 3 or so friends to buy games they deem good, and you buy some as well. Trade games once in a while and when everybody is bored, just resell them. You lost nothing but you supported the developers that created the games, as each of you paid their share.
OMFG a knife promotes muuuuuuurrrrrrdddeeerr, OMFG a ski mask promotes rooooobbbbeeerry!

*runs around like a chicken with it's head chopped off*

*facepalm* that's the point. It's time to change that.

Also I'm so sick about this piracy talk, why did you feel the need to revive this thread?
