Didn't think it's out yet, but will it be worth the investment?
Of course you will get more fps with it (though 9800gtx should already run most games at full speed since you also have quad core processor), but is it worth 500e and nearly 300w power consumption? If money isn't an issue, then sure..
p.s. Money isn't an issue personally, but it just seems like a pretty useless buy just like extreme series c2d's, quads, i7's, etc.. Just something to show off for overclocking. Worth the extra 600-700 dollars to boost fps in crysis by 5 or 6? NO
Even a gtx260 will give you full speed in all games..

Dude, dual GPU cards (Like HD 5970 or 295 GTX) are a bad election for Dolphin emu because dolphin only recognize 1 GPU (at this moment). Remember, HD 5970 = 2 x 5870.
The best single GPU cards at this moment are HD 5870 (ATI) and Geforce 480 GTX (nVidia).

Hehe thx for your fast responds, i must really think about it to invest 349 Euro.
But sometimes i wish i had more fps and the Gtx260 is a good solution but Gtx 470 would be better. I will see

Thx

Well i had problems running Ati cards, are the drivers better now, i had low minimum fps and stuttering in some games years ago. I was running Ati cards from 2000 -2006 and then i changed to the dark site. Also i read some online reviews from the Atiu 5870 and it seems that the low minimum fps isnt fixed in some games.. But on the other site the 2d qualtity from Ati is amazing.... Well i must read more previews from the Ati 5870 compares with gtx 470, gtx480..

Yes, 470 GTX is 30-35% more faster than 260 GTX in benchmarks.
Sorry, checked on the current prices, a 5970 does seem both overkill performance wise and overpriced for dolphin emulation (costs more than an entire htpc or medium range gaming rig). Not the best purchase.
A 5870 is an excellent idea if you can buy it, but I've a XFX 5850 XXX edition (overclocked) and I have all game at full speed in Full HD (1920) with max graphism and AA 8x ^^ Ans emulation with dolphin is perfect, all effets can be enable ! ^^
I don't like the 470 et 480 GTX because they have a lot of soucy, like power consuption or noise for exemple.
I don't think it's a slam dunk that you'll get much of an fps boost or any at all by upgrading to a gtx 470. The gtx470 is indeed much faster than a 9800gtx, but will the Dolphin emulator utilize the extra power. Maybe you should upgrade to a cheaper gtx260 just to see, but I doubt it. I'm certain there is no performance gain from a gtx260 to a gtx470 though. You'll be much more likely to see a big performance gain by upgrading your cpu. If you could overclock your cpu to 3.4ghz or higher, you should get a pretty decent performance boost.

Nice. Now i have a question... can u play MKWII NTSC at 60 constant FPS with that card? (i wana buy that monster the next month for play my favourite games, and dolphin of course, but im not sure).
You wont get big improvement in dolphin, but you will get nice improvement in next-gen PC games.
