I can tell by that screenshot that anisotropic filtering definitely isn't working.

yeah, but other users have the latest one, and the same problem. I don't think that it's a driver issue. Changing the settings didn't change anything. Does this problem appear on ATI graphic cards too?

i got a nvidia card and no problems with it it seams only you have the problem so i guess its ur card or drivers

2.0 is the one that looks much better
Must be a personal preference thing, I think the second screen (used on r5411) looks *much* better and the ground textures are better defined, definitely an improvement..
And the grass actually looks like grass, not just a green lump of slime.
