The only thing and extra core will be usefull for is the LLE plugin but even that will become useless once LLE JIT is properly implemented. The most cores you'll ever see Dolphin using is three and that extra core would only be for the LLE plugin since that is the only other thing that can be split onto another core and will benefit from an additional core.

Not sure how much clearer this needs to be said since some fail at grasping the concept...

Not as bad as running it on 1 core. Ah the horror~ Tongue
Lol snake :p.

Just use a tripple core ^_^!
Not that I have one... Got a dual core :p.

Yea but ima wait till I move out lol... Confused
I've heard talk of putting the DSP LLE on a third core. But the normally-used DSP HLE doesn't hardly use any CPU, so it's not worth it

The emulator can be so much faster, then it is at the moment. I hope it will work inthe future with using all 4 cores perfectly.
p.s. my signature isn't shown ?_?
if it can go faster, why don't you code it to use 4 cores? It's NOT easy to do, and the benefits aren't known.

Read my posts, it won't be.. Rolleyes

Nothing can be split onto other cores except for the LLE plugin and even that will become useless once LLE JIT is properly implemented.

Even if it were possible, splitting things onto more than two cores would cause nightmares with syncing things between the cores. You already see the stability and speed issues and other problems with syncing things between two cores, it would be much worse than it currently is if say there was a way to make Dolphin use more than two cores.

The only way the emulator is going to get any faster than it is currently, is by optimization and reworking of the code, fixing the various bugs and other issues that cause performance issues with Dolphin. Adding more cores into the equation is not going to fix anything and is bound to cause more problems than it would fix if it were possible.
Someone was certainly in a hurry to post and didn't bother reading the information within this thread.
Or did he simply fail at "grasping the concept" Smile
Exactly, even if you were being sarcastic, you still hit the nail head on. Tongue

No matter how many times you state it or present the facts, other people (particularly new members) tend to ignore it, same exact situation with reading the rules before posting at public community forums.
why dont they want to use 4 cores? My Dual Core is always running on 99% when dolphin is on...
