Alright, on what hard disk is your windows installed? (C, D, E, F, G etc.)
Follow these steps:

Code:
- Change the directory list to executables and add your direct X SDK folder to the list (default is C:\Program Files\Microsoft DirectX SDK (August 2009)\Utilities\bin\x86 or x64)
- Change the directory list to includes and add the include directory (default is C:\Program Files\Microsoft DirectX SDK (August 2009)\Include)
- Change the directory list to library and add the library folder there (default is C:\Program Files\Microsoft DirectX SDK (August 2009)\Lib\->x86 or x64<-)

yep thats all done
I can compile the latest version but the problem only happens when i try to compile the older version
this is weird and got me stumped ???
Hmm... Wait, I'll look further in to it, just give me a second Wink.

Now I'm just going to say some things but maybe they'll work :p.

Go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (February 2010)\Lib\x86
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft DirectX SDK (February 2010)\Lib\x64

Then search for the DxErr.lib file and copy and paste it in the same folder (do this in the x86 and x64 folder).
After that rename the copy to DxErr9.lib (in both folders ofcourse :p).

Maybe this works?

You are sure that that build CAN be build?
i compiled r4759 no probs
but when i tried 3833 and 3835 no success
and i tried changing the DxErr.lib but it didn't help
just wondering have you tried to compile 3833 and 3835 at all ???
but thanks for you help so far
I will try to build it.
I can compile 3833 and 3835 without any problems m8.

Here is it if you want to have it...

3833 32 bit: http://www.mediafire.com/?hmtxihnfmzc
3833 64 bit: http://www.mediafire.com/?ywznmykzctd

3835 32 bit: http://www.mediafire.com/?jimduomdymi
3835 64 bit: http://www.mediafire.com/?oyrtd2ymwqg

Here are my settings:
To import these settings:

  1. Open Visual C++ 2008 Express
  2. Then in the top menu bar go to
  3. Tools --> Import and Export Settings
  4. Choose for: Import selected environment settings
  5. Then you may choose to backup ypur settings (recommended)
  6. After that click on "Browse..." and look for the downloaded settings I attached
  7. Then just select All Settings if it isn't selected already, becouse it will only edit the VC++ Directories
  8. Then press Finish to import the settings
  9. After that press Close
  10. Now restart VC++ and try to compile it again.
