This game has been wasting hard drive space on my computer for exactly one month and 2 days. The online portion does not work whatsoever. I bought the game for the sole purpose of playing online, (The campaign portion sucks in every imaginable way.) I'm a huge graphics whore, and the games shitty story mode was not up to par with the awesome graphics the game had.
Well, for some odd reason my game's serial key was disfunctional. I was only able to bypass the inital request for it when i installed the game. It refused to work when EA yet again requested for it in the game itself. Up until recently i decided to take matters up front for this absurd matter. Assuming Ea's costumer support made up for their shitty game creating abilities, i went to it.

Here's a guy lucky enough to bypass my problem and enter another

I probably won't be buying another EA product again. We'll.. maybe another Sims 3 expansion. Wink

Edit: The times didn't display correctly.
Odd. I have had no issues whatsoever, along with most of the users of the pc version. It really does sound like you either mistyped your cd-key (I have done this many times before, the font they use makes certain letters/numbers look a lot like other letters/numbers) or for some reason your cd-key was invalid. I must agree with you about single player, most people love it but I don't even touch the single player campaigns in games like these that are clearly designed to be multiplayer games. I was actually fairly disappointed by the game's graphic considering how gpu heavy this game is. The average poly counts and texel counts are barely higher than bf2, and yeah the improved per pixel shader quality and destructible environments make up for that but I still want a game that looks "crisp and clean" instead of the "next gen look" which amount to nothing more than cranking up the bloom and dynamic range to absurd numbers so that everything looks washed out. I'm also disappointed by the game's built in anti-aliasing support. The engine is not compatible with driver level AA algorithms and the built in AA engine doesn't work on about 90% of the games surfaces. Only a few common objects such as guns will have aa applied to them if you decide to use it. However the amazing multiplayer gameplay and great community support easily make up for anything I dislike. Also the config files are layed out in an easy to read way just like crysis, the effects are outstanding, and the audio rendering is outstanding (although I don't agree with them dropping support for hardware audio). In my opinion crysis is still the only game that has good shader quality without the "washed out" look of multiplatform games. And yet if you look at the console version of crysis 2 what do you see? High bloom and dynamic range creating a washed out look. So I think it's clear that devs are using this on console games to cover up the lack of detail on the other aspects of graphics, hopefully it will go away with the next generation of consoles. Sorry for the monologue that this turned into.
My cousin had this problem with Spore, but it was because he had installed the game on an older computer first, which was too weak to run it, and had to run the EA de-authorization tool on that computer before he could install it on his new one. Anyway, without the CD key you basically have no game, maybe it was copied off in the store or was taken by a lucky pirate, not sure what the rules are with this, but it should go under defect product or something I guess
You bought a game from EA? You must have seen it coming dude.

Ok serious now, one problem is a banned key, but non-existant? How the hell does that happen?
I had experienced their downfall in their games' quality, but now the customer service?
Either way, it does nothing to me since I had decided not to spend a single cent on EA 2 anymore years ago, it's what they deserve.
EDIT: And Blizzard is next if they take out LAN for Diablo 3.

Well I attempted about thirty different times to activate the key. And of that 4 week period doing so, i searched forums and any source i could find to try and solve this. There were a few with my exact problem all of them, waited for an answer.

Not to mention the countless errors that still lie out there, and remain unpatched by Electronic Arts. I just wasn't able to pass phase one, im sure another error would have got me.

That's what i was forgetting to do. At the second week of having the game on my machine i decided to reinstall and see if that fixed anything. It wouldn't let me install again so i had to do a system restore; and a repair.
(Last minuite cleverness)

If it were a banned key, i would be a bit more appreciative. At least them I'd be able to enjoy as much as i could.
Another thing, is this game worth the money, if i decided to buy it again? Not saying i want to go through this dilemma again, but if i decided to gamble.
I'm thinking you got hosed. Either somehow EA screwed up, you got a defunk key, somehow you not really paying attention to the whole key correctly (confusing letters and order) or something is just overly screwed up. Where did you buy the game? I tried to tell folks weeks back that they could have gotten the game from the EA online store for 20 dollars for download.

Just because their are forums full of people with problems does not mean the game is unplayable for anything less than a super minority. Seeing as how they currently have 600% more players playing the game online then they ever had with bf2 I'de say that less than 5% of users are having any kind of problems. I have had 0 issues with this game and play it on a regular basis. Not to mention I can't think of even 1 pc game that doesn't also have forums full of people having problems, so I'll bet if you got a working key you wouldn't run into any more problems, if you do then your just REALLY unlucky.
Had not a single problem with bfbc2. Truly awesome game.
Sony's customer support is even funnier, there's loads of stories if you search around just for some fun.

Every time you call them with a problem regarding the psp or ps3, they have "never heard of it". Apparently, they've been taught to say that, even if the problem is shared by tens of thousands of people.
It even took them a while to admit that some of their earliest firmwares were bricking consoles, and just said they are 'individual' problems.

I'm not a fanboy of any 1 manufacturer, but compared to nintendo or even m$, Sony have an abysmal attitude towards the customer that pays their salaries.
"I" is always capitalized when talking about yourself, not just at the beginning of your sentence.
