Ok, it's been ages since I've been on these forums but I have a new comp and so I came back with the release of Dolphin 2.0 coming out just before my return. Now the specs on this new comp are pretty nice (custom built myself) but my fps can be anywhere from as low as 30 (rare) to 61 (somewhat common) with an average around 45 (usually in a 4 man brawl) and so I'm not seeing why it's running kinda poorly with my current rig. I am using Dolphin 2.0 (official build) setting are listed below, comp specs are in sig.
General:
Enable Dual-Core
Enable Idle Skipping
HLE the IPL
JiT Recompiler
Lock Threads to cores.
Confirm on stop.
Wii:
EuRGB60
16:9 Aspect Ratio
Plugins:
Dolphin Direct3D9
=>Graphics Card selected
Fullscreen
1366x768
Enable Cpu-> EFB Access
No Enhancements checked (had EFB scaled copy checked but wasn't sure what it did, unchecked, noticed no improvement)
Advanced:
Enable EFB copy to texture
Dolphin DSP HLE Plugin:
First 2 checked, last 2 unchecked, Dsound selected
Dolphin GCPad NEW:
Fully configured for my 360 controllers (2 at the moment)
Dolphin WiiMote Plugin:
Set to inactive nothing configured or checked

Frame Skipping is set to 0. Any help would be appreciated.

ADDED NOTE: The resolution might seem high, but this graphics card is weird, it preformed worse at lower resolutions. Windows 7 says that is my optimal resolution for everything on this monitor...
Did you at least check 'Native Resolution' and run a test to see if it goes faster?
Also, when you have EFB to texture, CPU>EFB access is rendered useless, so disable it.
Also, does your VPS rate equal FPS at all times?

Yea I tried the OpenGL plugin and got spotty performance. (Native is only in the opengl plugin)
And what exactly is the EFB? Extra Frame Buffer? Extended Frame Buffer?
There is a couple settings in here that I wish I knew more about... I'm used to configuring epsxe on various computers over the years, so I'm pretty good at tweaking to a machines needs
http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/wiki/Doc_EFB
Using the GFX card memory for that can be faster, but CPU won't be able to access it (games taking in-game pictures).

So in theory I'm likely to get a speed boost disabling the cpu efb but I can't use SSBB's camera mode, does that sound correct?
and thanks for pointing out the wiki, never saw that there... That may be useful for later...
Any other suggestions?
I'm sure you'll see a double counter in the newer revisions, FPS and VPS.
Do both numbers stay synched or not?
SSBB has the particularity of being able to run faster that it can render. I mostly get 40fps, 50vps and go full speed, in terms of time not graphics.

I actually don't have the vps displayed just the fps... This might explain why the cutscenes in story mode seemed to slow down but the fps was at a steady 61
Grr, I don't see the option to overlay the vps...
Add in:
Just ran a quick test, using event 40 which was holding around 43 with the OP settings, now it's mostly 50fps but does drop down for a second or 2 to 41-43fps
Revision 5375 readded the VPS/FPS counter
Your speeds are not that bad, and you're using the 32 bit version.
Still have room for a boost.
Damn! I just changed one setting (efb copy to ram instead of texture) and it instantly dropped down to 25fps on event 40 and stayed at that speed! I changed the setting because after a brawl match where it lists number of ko's and all that jazz, all the white text is a mess. efb copy to ram fixes that but it kills the fps! ugh!

I'm lookin around for a non-intel compiled revision

add on
ok it says 25-30fps but i just countedt the seconds on the clock in the corner and they are running at exact normal speed even though it should be running at 1/2 to 1/3 normal speed... ??? I am thoroughly confused

again
hey I found the vps counter at the top of the window in windowed mode! with the setting changes I made it currently says 31 fps 43 vps
re-enabling the cpu efb and the scaled efb brought me from 23 to a good 30-32fps
to answer your earlier question, no they do not sync up at all, and the speed % says I'm runnin around 65% but the counter for how long the match last seems to be running at real time...
Exactly, the VPS is the cpu times, and you computer manages to make it almost if not always in real time.

The FPS here won't limit the time formula for your luck (only SSBB and few other games), upgrading the GFX card will increase it.

The VPS instead is limited by your CPU, although using a 64 bit version might provide a little boost if you're not fullspeed.

If FPS and VPS were synced in this game, it would definitely run slower (in matter of time).
