first 250 is like a good gf9 9800gtx is a very low card for the difference price buy at less i think a 260 cause all new pc games require this and more video card is the most important for gaming and developper wont stop to increase detail and effect in games

i just wanna to play all games in 2048 1536 in high detail i got phenom2 x4 3.4 4g ddr2 1066 hyper x engtx 260 896meg sp 216 sata2 750+500g cooler cpu zalman extreme10

and i was surprise with this pc i think i would be able to play all
95 pourcent no pb all max setting + i can over ride with control panel nvidia

but few games as gta 4 mass effect 2 metro 2033 gave me nice resulte but only in 1600 1200 with detail on but i cant put aa in 2033 max

if you are gamer 250 is very bad at less 260 or more i wanna get 295 or i will wait few weeks and i will buy my 480
the gts250 isn't as weak as a 9800gt...
9800gt<9800gtx<9800gtx+<gts250<gtx260
what i read on that card was disapointed me a lot and if i am right sp216 come on 260 at less new architecture sorry my english
i dont say i like 9800 gt but he almost the same as 9800 gtx but for the difference in price if your are a gamers dont think my friend have it and he have same cpu and same board but the diffence is very impresse we make the bench in gta 4 and i really in front of him
Ah ok, well... The price difference between the gts250 and gtx260 is about 60% here. Meaning you get the gts250 for 100-110 and gtx260 for 160-180 (cheapest prices).

But the main issue is the fact that I can only use so-called low profile cards. The GTX260 doesn't exist in the low profile form factor... So for the money and possibilities for my htpc the gts250 is the best there is. Also got it secondhand so was a bit cheaper.

And nah, I won't game that much on my htpc. It was mainly meant as a good card for dolphin and being able to play a game every now and then (and not in the highest resolution or max details)
the difference in price is very big. the gts250 is about 120$, the gtx260 is like 200$
Don't worry, I think the GTS250 was actually a good choice.

If you truly want the highest end possible card, just wait for a gtx 480 or get a radeon 5970. A 260 is just fine if you want a medium range card that would run all games at full speed.

The price differences between a 260 and 295 are not justified for the low performance gain of maybe 10-20% (but nearly double price tag). From a price perspective I can't even recommend my card, a gtx280, I only got it on a clearance sale near me for -60$ off, otherwise it's somewhat a rip off too.

GTS250/GTX260 are more than enough for dolphin even at 1080p and all enhancements enabled..
