I didn't. At first, I was scratching my head wondering why Directx would have anything to do with controller plugins, but I figured I should probably update them away since it's a new harddrive. I updated... AND IT WORKED!

well directx is not driver update

and DirectX is actually a whole set of stuff (graphics(Direct3D), input(DirectInput,XInput), sound(DirectSound), network(DirectPlay))

its outdated...and shouldn't be in my builds :/
