Ok so i got this semi old PC and ive tried a few games and well... there is lag there and here and i wonder if its just emulation problem or my PC sucks or my GFX Card sucks? o.O

So i wanna post my specs here so someone can tell me whats wrong and maybe someone can tell me what games i can run decently =)

Windows 7 Ultimate 32 BIT
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ 2.4GHZ
RAM: 2 GB
GFX Card: ATI Radeon HD 4890

Ive notice this card is nice but my CPU is holding me back for new PC games ike Crysis and suchs, damn shame i need to get a new motherboard and all to use this card to its massimum potential? or im just imagining things? i dont know lol

Ive played Mario Kart Wii, and single player gives me around 30 FPS. 2 Player gives me less i think? need to double check

Luigis Mansion is in between 24 FPS or so...

New Super Mario Bros seems to run sweet 50 FPS or so...

Zelda TP: GC runs at 20-30 but in regular town in the beggining is 17 FPS ish? eww? =[

Mario Galaxy ... Ummm 20-30 FPS =/ its really slow....

Is it my PC? Im using the performance settings from dolphin-emulator website o.o
Wow, I think that is a little slow for it. But buying a new quad isn't worthwhile unless you get a fast one(if you are buying for hardcore) as they are expensive, but will last much longer(and a 2.4 or lower quad won't give dual core and single core games a speed boost). They seem decent, so I am surprised at that. I would expect speeds a little faster.
WOW!!!! HOORAY! Someone who has the exact cpu like mine.
ok...default settings lemme guess. even I with a horribly worse card i can handle mario kart at 25-30 fps.
use D3D9 plugin (direct3d9) instead of opengl if u aren't already.
enable efb copy to texture. disable framelimit and audio throttle in dsp sound plugin.
disable eurgbpal60.
and if still not getting good results, put frmaeskip to 1

Ok ill try your suggestion... The only thing i havent tried is disabling eurgb o.o

What other games have you ran with that CPU? decently?
My CPU is actually similar to yours, too. But my CPU only needs 2.0GHz to get the speed you get. Smile
Your video Card is fine and not the problem.
If you have time try overclocking your cpu a bit to get less "sucky" speeds.

Well i didnt see any sort of speed increase lol

SSBB plays pretty nice, some random slowdowns here and there but plays smooth for the most part ^_^

And i dont think i can overclock my CPU, its a HP CPU after all...

I bought this computer at walmart a while back, and i upgraded the PSU and GFX card and mouse. And thats how ive been playing games but it starting to age.... well the CPU atleast... with all this Quad Cores and whatever >_<

bleh =P lol
weird, that cpu isn't bad at all. i mean it's a lot better than a pentium d. and a little bit weaker than the e2200.
maybe you're running too many background processes
try this link, it's got games that don't need strong cpu to emulate:
http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-6199-page-1.html
try this as well

also try putting frameskip to 1 or 2.
Sorry for the nub question, i never even had seen that option till now... lol...

What does frameskip does?

The windows 7 links dont work =[

broken links? sorry can't help you. i haven't uploaded the files.
frameskip is an option that may make the game less smoother but faster. frameskip set more than 2or 3 might cause game choppyness tho.
