Desmume is different to Dolphin since it emulates a whole network stack (we would just need to redirect some IOCtls to their corresponding POSIX socket calls), so I doubt it's comparable to them.
Then again, I don't really know how N detects emulated DSs anyway...

Its worth a try though isnt it?
If you know what it takes, why not test your theory?

No one has cared to donate a Wii for testing to me, yet

Also, I don't really feel like investing time into this due to a lack of time or due to a lack of someone paying me to implement it..
Neobrain needs cash, pay him soon or Dolphin graphics will suffer.
it wouldnt ruin anything, im sure there would be alot of legit player and dolphin could easily be coded to detect cheats and not use them .
Neobrain/Starscream can I suggest a pole just to know who would be interested in?

Good idea. Bout donating a Wii, im sure enough people, including myself would donate cash so you can buy one yourself.

No, it's very easy.

As for WFC emulation, it's even more unlikely than wifi emulation itself
Sorry Neobrain, it's now in wii-network branch and I'm working on it again. There was also the concern about abuse. But that already exists anyway. Wii is quite well past it's lifetime now (My opinion anyway), so I don't feel that bad about implementing it.

It cannot actually, which is the nice thing about N's sucky WFC.
Prolly something with some console ID or MAC address or whatever can be used to prevent emulators from using WFC, but whatever...
EDIT: Only one thing which might cause issues is a stupid network stack which uses VASTLY different package batching than the Wii.. meh
Only identifier is the mac address that is sent to nintendo's servers. It requires the first 5 or so bytes to be nintendos wii range, but after that you can just randomise it. It relies heavily on ssl certificates, which can be easily found on your wii system. But as far as detection goes, I would say it's actually impossible. Dolphin acts and looks like a wii. It's designed that way. Nintendo generate a unique console id for the wii when it connects to the wii servers. It generates it if you don't have one already, I belive they rely on this for banning consoles... It's easy to delete it on the actual wii, and is slightly easier when dealing with dolphin.
If it walks, talks and looks like a duck. It is a duck.
<OPINION>I think there is a correlation between a growing interest in hacking/cracking an online console game, and the service being retired (companies may be looking for excuse anyway so that they can end support for an old game and start selling something new). Hacking may be fun, but doing it for others could result in cheating which would kill the game for those who want to play it properly. Apart from that, we wouldn't want any pirates or crackers focusing Nintendo's attention on the homebrew community.</OPINION>
Cheaters have ruined MK years ago and I doubt there is a lot of griefers who will jump on the bandwagon if they didn't have to buy&hack a Wii. I suppose you can add wall hack like cheats with Dolphin if your goal is to beat the cheaters but I suppose that is a chaotic good thing.
Will Dolphin generate new friend code everytime? I think Desmume took a lot them for the brief time it worked.
