I mean comeon... Dolphin is the PERFECT Wii replacement, finally games look GOOD - at full HD, etc. and it plays fine! Dodgy

Right now I'm using Dolphin for all those single player games of mine cause honestly, this looks so damn nice on my HDTV... but it pisses me off that games like MH:Tri, Mario Kart (atleast when racing online and not against my gf) - still need to be played at SD resolutions and muddy output (ever seen a SD image upscaled on a HDTV? Dodgy)

Honestly I wouldn't mind at all if it required a full Wii FW dump, just dump it from the Wii and bam, full HD wii - finally.

Thats of course just my two cents... and I hope that the Dolphin devs eventually will pick it up.

It is imposable (or at least VERY hard)
Why would it be?

Nintendo's Network, their rules, just like you aren't allowed online with a hacked console. Netplay is the only solution on over the network/internet play and that is still far from perfect or even being an adequate solution. Desmume implemented wi-fi, but it was immediately banned from Nintendo's network due to technical issues that allow emulators to be immediately be distinguished from a real system, this led to wi-fi/internet support being pulled in later revisions. Go buy a Wii if you want wi-fi and the ability to play on Nintendo's network, other than half-baked support for netplay wi-fi isn't going to happen with emulators as long as it involves connecting to the official network of the company that created the system. Other than connecting to Nintendo's network wi-fi is pointless and not needed, and going online on their network with an emulator is only foolish.

questions?
Is WiFi Hardware itself supported atleast then? This could prove useful for Homebrew development then.
There has been some development in the wifi emulation, but it hasn't been committed yet for reasons I often asked for but never really got told.
As for WFC emulation, it's even more unlikely than wifi emulation itself.

questions?

Does X2d have any experience in emulating WiFi devices? [/rhetorical]
fwiw, I doubt it's impossible to implement. And I even doubt it's hard to implement once you figure out how WFC works internally. Then again, I don't know how N is blocking desmume users from connecting to their servers.
1. Cheaters don't need an emulator to work right
2. Wii's online is bad either way :S
About Desmu~ Maybe it works the same way dolphin does right now? Using hardcoded HW-IDs?

It's why I suggested before, locking the feature unless a proper Wii-NAND dump is provided?
Having a nand dump would make little difference, due to desyncs and other issues that come with emulation an emulator connecting to the network can almost immediately be identified and banned. I'm fairly certain the difference between an emulator and the actual system can be easily spotted on the network. As for banning they probably ban based on some id, spotting emulators can probably be done by comparing id's, the emulator probably has some bogus, incomplete or missing id that disallows the emulator from properly authenticating on the network.

Just like hacked PS3's are permitted online, neither is using an emulator to play online on their network. Going online with an emulator opens a can of worms. Don't expect any online functionality other than Netplay.

It cannot actually, which is the nice thing about N's sucky WFC.
Prolly something with some console ID or MAC address or whatever can be used to prevent emulators from using WFC, but whatever...

EDIT: Only one thing which might cause issues is a stupid network stack which uses VASTLY different package batching than the Wii.. meh
You might want to contact the Desmume developers, they could probably explain it better in more detail and they would know the exact reason why.
