OK, Thank you.

Dude Direct3D is more faster than opengl (10% - 20%). I prefer it.

Now i have a question, how many fps d u have at the intro level (observatory)?

yes, D3D is more faster, What level do you mean?
i read you need to use safe texture catch on most of the boss fights in super mario galaxy or it goes black.

I think this pretty much confirm my & James333 suspicion. This problem only happens either:

1. On bad integrated chips
2. Higher series nvidia cards.

The fix is to switch to OpenGL plugin during the boss battle, and it will not occur. But really, it's becoming clear that this is a graphics card related issue. This never appears to happen to ATi users.

P.S. It also happens on my gtx280, but not on my age-old Radeon HD 3850.

I have a Geforce 260 GTX Core 216 and i dont have this problems in SMG.
But it only ever happened to GT200 series users (out of the major graphics cards out there) so then it's likely a driver issue of nvidia. Also happens on some weak intel gma's and SiS as well

And yes, d3d is better for all games... Hence the desire to find a fix to such a problem

Try the 190.89 Forceware drivers; i dont have problems and i get +5 fps in comparison with the 196.21 drivers in all the games (i dunno why). Oh, and this drivers have OpenCL support.

Link to 190.89 nVidia Drivers: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/opencl-download.html

Good luck.

Hey all,

I am also having this black screen problem. Whenever I choose the file I want to play, it fades to black, but just stays black forever. Everything just stops.

I tried going back and forth between dx9 and opengl and this is what happens- with dx9 I have solid fps (averaging around 45fps). But with dx9, I get the black screen issue. When I switch to opengl the emulator just runs extremely slow. I get like 4fps, and I can't do anything when its like that.

Any ideas? I'm using the latest version of Dolphin that is posted on this site.

Thanks,

Roots
