Yes, I have two graphic cards installed:
GeForce GTX 460 - Main screen
GeForce GTS8800 - TV

I have the second one installed because the GTX460 has only DVI and HDMI outputs. But my TV has no HDMI input.
i do this with a single gtx460 with dvi to my monitor and hdmi to my tv. but im using ubuntu and the two displays act as different sessions. i can still do stuff on my monitor while playing on the tv. i only have two problems i have yet to figure out. 1.) i can only maximize dolphin in a window at my prefered resolution, no alt+enter. seems to lockup X. but ive only just started messing with this set up.
2.) if the screensaver comes on it would also lock up X but i have a button to dissable that.

can you do something similar with windows maybe or will it only function as an extension of the current desktop?
Background input seems to be flaky to me, depending on emulated input. If it works perfectly for you, then you can do anything else you want on the pc as long as you're using a controller.

This thread is a bit old but I would like to put in my two cents for what its worth. Apparently, there are a number of people who are not used to using two monitors posting answers to questions about two monitors. This is very frustrating because they have no way of knowing what the configuration might be used for from day to day, and may not be familiar with the common issues faced or the recent trend in application developments. I am an avid dual monitor user and can tell everyone right now that it doesn't matter if I can't use the primary monitor while the second is in use for Dolphin... I still want the feature!

The reason being that I have a menu system that I use on the primary monitor that gives access to all games on my computer. Other people may like to use a front end or even have a movie or images on that screen. The point is, that it very much IS a feature that is needed in Dolphin and the toolbar overlay is a BIG problem for me right now. Most software out there configures to dual monitor without the Windows Taskbar problem. I don't know why Dolphin is giving me so much of a hastle. And why isn't there a monitor selection option in the UI??????
there is a option which allows background input (forget the name)

so you can play dolphin with your wiimote (gamepad)
and still use the mouse/keyboard in another application on the other screen

and i think you can run dolphin on the second screen (maybe just go into fullscreen while one the second screen)
i know it was possible

What kind of redundant bs is that Tongue

pharaohoo

I found if You open (move) a Dolphin in secondary screen and maximize Dolphin window in screen then start game in full screen mode, game will stay in secondary screen, only You need to set game resolution in same size as primary monitor.
And one more way to control I found. I use Actual Multiple Monitors software an after starting game in full screen mode just hit a hotkey to move it in screen I need, I think orther multiple monitor softwares can do the same think.
