Is there a setting when using direct3d that is the same or is similar to OpenGL's "disable destination alpha pass" option? i need to be able to do that in a game but i want to use direct3D and not use openGL.

Yes, it's under video hacks in game properties when you right click. But I think it's disabled by default.

I'm not 100% sure but i think it will only work under OGL if u set it up in the properties.

yeah you are right...this option only seems to work in OGL. When i enable it in d3d it did nothing.
