well then of course it's going to be slower if anti aliasing is only working in 1 of them
Yes, that is what I meant, that does help explain some of the slowdown. The settings were exactly the same for both revisions, as I said, I just forgot that Anti-aliasing was working again. Either way, there is still some difference in speeds. I'll post more shots later on.

yea but the increases compatibility kinda makes up fr the small difference if you ask me
I read about this on the home page a few minutes ago. How good is this compared to the builds from spellforce and mario like 5170, etc?

It's the same.

Anyway, wait for the final version.
Same results even with AA off.

So, what does all this mean? I'm not saying the devs are doing a bad job, what I'm saying is that speed has decreased over time. I'm just providing some feedback about the facts.
Test one by one the revisions to try and figure where it slows down for you.

Test 5000 or 5115
I compared r4869 with Orleans r5170 with sse3 and got exactly same frame rates, but... I didnt test the same games as you did.
@ GodRays: That's going to take some time and I'm not sure if I'm willing to dedicate that much time right now.

@ John: If you do compare some more, let me know if you're using the same type of setup as I am or not. Like a 64-Bit OS and Windows 7. It does matter in the testing. My specs are in my sig for the Laptop.
I would like to add a few comparative shots to this thread i can agree that globally 2.0-RC1 is slower in most cases but it seems that all games i tested run better on some revisions and worse on others,
so far the best revision that worked for 85% of my games is R4977 with 95% of the time full speeds.

anything above R5000 is slower and slower for me so i stick with R4977 for now.

I also must add that the revisions post R5000 are very Jumpy in fps, in the same scene where i get 50 fps stable on R4977, it jumps around between 40 to 50 fps on the other revisions with no particular reason.

(PS: i made a zip file because the forum w'ont let me add more than 5 attachments if you want to see the other screenshots DL the Zip)

Dolphin Comparative Shots.zip

I just want to add that The Same exact settings were used on all revisions.
