Hi,

To play Wii Sports or now Wii Sports Resorts bring me often randomly crashes. At the moment i see it on Bowling (only sport that i play Big Grin). I use always the last SVN (now try RC1) and both games runs really fast (DirectX Plugin). But sometimes i get randomly crashes (Sound works, Picture freez.)

For example the game "New Super Mario Brothers" never Crash.

Have someone the same Problem with Wii Sports / Wii Sports resort?
Have somne good setting for this Problem?

Regards
Nope, after 5000+ rev, never had a single crash with either sports or sports resort. The issue isn't definitely your hardware either as you can play any game with that rig on full settings.

If you'd post your configs, that would really help in fixing the issue (as it's likely only a matter of changing settings).
I had the same issue that you, and when I found the build 5116 with AFCloop patch the game never crashed again.
besides other games like zelda works great with this build
good luck man

Ocean,

When playing Wii Resort with my wiimote, the game freezes at the intro when the pop-up box "Dive" is displayed. I'm using svn 5170. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Have you got EFB Copy enabled? If so, try disabling it.
There can be multiple issues..

1. Did the game totally freeze, or is it still in motion? You need sensor bar or emulated wiimote pointer to press 'dive'.
2. Don't use opengl plugin, switch to dx9
3. Disable safe texture cache, enable idle skipping
edit- I just played both games on these settings, and it worked 100%

Post your hardware and the main configurations you use for dolphin. That can lead to the solution.
Thanks Ocean,

My system config is:

Phenom II 955
Ram 3gb
Radeon 4870
win7 32

When using a real wiimote, how do I enable the emulated wii pointer when using a real wiimote (I'm not at my dolphin pc so forgive me for not trying to figure this out for myself first)? With some games, the wiimote alone (without using a sensor bar or emulated pointer) allows me to use/move the wii pointer (such as in Super Smash Brothers); however, in other games, when using the wiimote either the pointer doesn't show up on the screen at all (Mario Galaxy -- screen with planets after the intro or Wii Sports Resort) or I can see it on the screen, but cannot move it (Mario Party 8). As it relates to Wii Sports Resort, the screen does not freeze; however as I refered to above, the wii pointer simpy doesn't show up on the screen. If you wouldn't mind sharing how / where to configure the emulated pointer (while also using a real wiimote) which presumably would solve the problems I describe herein, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!
Well, it's as I suspected. There is a misconception.. SSBB does not utilize the pointer at all. It's a cursor. In games such as Mario Galaxy and Sports Resort, you need the pointer to work, that is, with a sensor bar or any other infrared light emitting device (even two candles). Your real wiimote can't transmit pointer data via bluetooth unless it can calculate it's relative position from an IR emitter.

Far as I know, it's impossible to use real wiimote and emulated pointer. Buy a cheap $5 wireless sensor bar and you'll be able to press 'dive' and start the game.

Mind you that you also need a real motionplus device to play any sports resort games. The emulated extension does not work yet in dolphin. But it comes bundled with the game so it shouldn't be a problem though.

Thanks Ocean. Would the "Wii Wireless Sensor Bar" work or is it only compatible with the Wii Console?

Thanks again
it does work...all it does is making infra-red light, y'know Wink
You could even just put two burning candles in front of (or on or whatever) your monitor...that's what I do because it's cheaper than the batteries for the sensor bar Big Grin
