This discussion seems a bit off topic, but on almost any reasonable system with 5k+ series radeon or 2xx nvidia card, PCSX2 can run any ps2 game without lag. The real issue is graphics artifacts in some games. I don't have any screen lag in most ps2 games while emulating.. Except some fighting games soulcalibur3, mk armageddon etc.

how come i'm the only one desperate for good speds!!!!! Sad
PCSX2 configuration to optimal speeds is a bit different than dolphin. Most speed gains you'll get through hacks.

Go to config, click speed hacks, then select EESync 2x hack, idle loop hack, and enable INTC, disable IOP. Also, set the D3D render resolution the same you set on the dx9/10/11 plugin. And voila, fps should be optimal.

On dolphin, use dx9 plugin, turn framelimit off, enable dualcore & idle skipping, disable vsync, disable anisotrophic filters and anti-alias, efb copy to texture, use efb scaled copy hack, enable cpu->efb access. Should lead to optimal fps in almost all games. Some games will need safe texture cache or efb -> ram just to work at all, though.
got an update. I now run windows vista home premium on the same computer (had to hack the vista installer disc to skip mem check)
and pcsx seems to be working just as well as it did before
ii upgraded my windows cause xp is losing support from microsoft in april.
i still have the same problems with dolphin as before its still running at 50% anyone know if any new developments in dx for dolphin is happening?
Heres a screenshot of Ratchet and Clank: Size matters run from a dvd
Well, I don't know why you use zeroGS renderer, when any of the GSdx versions (especially ones utilizing sse3 or above) will result in smoother gameplay and frames per second. Judging by debugger it also seems you use 0.9.6 with disk drive or daemon mounted disk. Get r1888 beta which has iso loader, it will fix a lot of slow gameplay errors and bugs.

As for dolphin, that seems like a strange problem. Specs? Do you have a hyperthreading enabled cpu? Personally it's no bother, but to some people, disabling HT meant the difference between half speed and full speed. Also, enable dual core/idle skipping.
my computer specs are on page 2 of this forum, and my cpu doesnt support sse2 or sse3, and the game was running from the original disc. it was 73 fps. all i put that there was so you can see that i haven't the slightest bit of trouble with ps2 games.
Yeah, in that case the zerogs plugin is the only option. I noticed your high fps in that game. Zgs works on my server pc with a dual core processor and mediocre gfxcard just fine for lighter games too, though stuff like shadow of the colossus or god of war II crawl like a snail unless using hardware that can support sse3+ instruction set.

weird, pcsx2 still runs like a snail... :S
whatever i do...maybe my games are demanding. i don't think so tho since i've seen other people on youtbue with lamer specs than mine running the games i have full speed :/
You have to install again the program, that is the best thing that you have to do.

lol it doesn't have an installation and it doesn't have to do with it all...
and i'm not getting answers from brandonx, i mean he's the one i'm supposed to get help from since he gets explosive framerates at a low end a pc like mine
All i did to get my good frame rate was continue to mess with the hacks and settings, its really random. no computer is the same, and what the other guy said was "Optimal" settings run at 12 fps on my pc. you just have to find a good combination ^^
