good to hear, indeed Smile in the end it's one of the most sophisticated games on GC and one people would like to play again. Anyway, take your time Wink
Wow, if you can find a proper solution for that cpu/gpu sync it could positively affect many other games as well., exciting !
Nice to hear, perhaps fixing this issue and working on optimizing vertex loaders could benefit plenty of games both for compatibility and maximum performance.

Anyone mind creating a thread about games that suffer from the emulated GPU desync if there isn't already a thread? Might be useful to keep tabs on these specific games in order to observe whether or not they benefit from this fix once it's implemented. Smile
I don't think there are many games that suffer from that problem, or many that we know about. Either way, not enough to make a thread about it.
I guess they would all be in my stickied thread for games that don't make it ingame. If I knew which ones I would make a category for them.
def jam fight for new york, dont have that problem?
is that a question? Well, there's a lot of games that don't boot fine, but they don't all have the same issue.
Random thought: I wonder if the issues with this game could be due to the fact that it was originally going to be an N64 game? Do other games that suffer from similar issues fit this description as well?
It has nothing to do with that. It's GC code that is not right.
I have the game going up to the end of the intro movie:

It then gets stuck on a fifo breakpoint. The fifo bp hack didn't help.

The game is running using JIT x64 in Single Core mode with the DX9 plugin. I have removed the speed hacks and other game hacks from the fifo code. In their place, I have added some basic CPU to GPU synchronisation code. Because of this, the game is running pretty slow - 17fps on my Intel e6700 dual core 2.66ghz

The Edgar Poe quote appears on the screen. After that, I have to turn on the bloom projection hack to navigate through the menu. I can see data for the menu going into the FIFO so this probably means that part of the graphics emulation (not just the fifo) is not working. The intro movie then appears after I start the game from the menu.

Will post more as development progresses.
