Hi, i'm going to buy an wiimote and nunchuck for playing games with dolphin, but, i have a question that i couldn't find the answer yet...
I will buy an usb bluetooth adapter, but, there are many models to choose, i need something specific to connect the wiimote to it ?
I need a bluetooth 2.0 "EDR class 2" adapter?
it have to be compatible with ad2p?
it got to have some specific range? (i've found an broadcom mini adapter with only 10m of range)
Thanks a lot!

So, I'm guessing you already have some wii isos, but did not have the wiimote/nunchuk set, hence you did not have the wii itself, or any games...right?
I got a generic USB bluetooth adapter from Tesco and just use a trial version of Toshiba Bluetooth Stack, uninstall and reinstall once a month to avoid the 30 day trial limit, lol.
It works just fine, you can pretty much use any bluetooth you want.
I'm not agree with you RupeeClock. See precedent post, I've got problem to play with japan black wiimote with a dklink dbt122 dongle (but work with french white one?!??). And with a dongle of my friend only one wiimote works with bluesoleil. Tee third i've tried, runs with 2 wiimotes but it disconnect when you start games. So, i'm waiting a Trust mini bt key, wich is certified with windows7 (Im running 64bit os!) and european wiimote (i've bought a white simple and and a black with motion plus). I will see if my problems will be resolved (hope so!)
I think any dongle will work with white original nintendo wiimote but some people have problems keeping multi wiimotes connected, and the prime suspect are the bt dongles.
@fred: i don't think we have any confirmation that black wiimotes are supported yet. (dolphin is racist :O )
Is there a good and cheap BT adapter that doesn't need specific drivers ? Doesn't windows 7 autodetect that stuff ?

Well, with my first bt key (dlink) it works fine with windows7 and my phone. It works fine with one white mote, but with the 2 black wiimote i'd bought the buttons in dolphin don't work. With another bt key (witch was in a package for phone) only one could work (may be there was only one channel on it???) and with bluesoleil. I think there are both technical restriction with some bt keys and problem in dolphin (but the programmers don't seem to care just because it works fine for them...how sad!).
My BT key "el cheapo" (win 7 friendly) from fleabay is on its way. I'll post my experiances bad/good once I get my hands on it.....

I don't think they don't care, but they have 1000s of other issues to work on. How can you even say HOW SAD!?!

If you are so smart why don't spend tons of hours of your free time and write some code to add more/better BT support....

If you cannot than #%$&@%
Perhaps all we are missing is a sticky with working/non-working BT usb dongles, but do not blame developers for a poor support.
There is just too much hardware (old/current/incomign) for them to have full support for it….
Sorry dude, don't take me wrong but your comment was totally uncalled for....

Hey, what's wrong with you? Perhaps, my english is not good enough (i'm french) and my message seems a bit "rude". I don't blame developpers, but since i've joined the dolphin community on this site, i've read many peoples who have problem with wiimotes and bluetooth. Perhaps this issue could have a better priority, because if you emulate a Wii, it's nice to emulate its controllers too? No? It's like emulate an Amiga without a mouse???

. So don't loose your nerves, i'm trying to help out some dudes with my personnal experience of Dolphin. I don't know about coding, but coders need testers and feedback of users to improve their programs. So, i can help...

Thanks for the answers! but, do you think that buying a wiimote + nunchuck
only for using it with dolphin is worth?
Because here in uruguay they cost $80
I think that it's worth, there are variety of games that run at 100% and can be played flawlessly with the wiimote + nunchuck, doesn't it ? what's your opinion?

Hey santysos, nice to see a fellow south american here, I'm from Bolivia and recently bought a Wiimote+Nunchuk in $70. Sadly, I was ripped off because it was a knock-off wiimote (not an original one as they claimed) so I had problems since day one (buttons were not recognized in Dolphin and I've had many pairing issues with the default ms stack).
Anyway, using bluesoleil I've succesfully paired the wiimote and everything works fine since then. However I haven't tried a 2nd wiimote which seems to be a problem for many people, but with only one wiimote I think you are safe, just be sure to get an original branded Wiimote.
