Right, was doin some further messing around. It's only happening in the intro movie and menu. It's a horizontal blur effect in the form of a line across the bottom and vertical line up the right side of the screen. The line only effects water and does not extend onto land. If I disable Cpu-Efb acess it flips the lines to top of the screen and up the left side, Leaving the bottom and right side working fine.
So obviously something to do with efb I would imagine? Not that thats any help as I'm still stumped

Hm well...as long as it's not there anymore ingame (right?), let's leave it at that for now.

Absolutely, just thought I'd note the issue incase it's at all relevant to the development of the emu

I too have these issues.
It is useful to document these , and state them as fact on this thread , so they can be duplicated and examined when needed by the people developing the parts responsible for them.
Whatever symptoms we may find here may be relevant in debugging other things.
So , what I see as faulty:
1 ) The reflection of anything on the water gets drawn with an offset of quite a significant amount . I suspect it's the same amount and side as in point 2.
2) On the left and bottom sides , when a transparent texture overlaps another the texture underneath gets stretched out to the edges , this does not happen when there is no transparent texture on top . It happens when looking at the surface from under the water , also when looking at the water from the surface.
3) The hair on the main character looks strange , but when taking a closer look , I can see the polygons aren't actually drawn , that's why they look transparent. Either the wii draws surfaces not displayed on screen , or texturises and colors both sides of surfaces ??
Tried : DX10 , OpenGL , DX9 , All 3 issues remain.
Not tried : Software renderer.
have tried every option on and off in combination .. nothing got rid of it , as mentioned in the post above , disabling cpu-> efb moved it from the right to the left.
Collection of screenshots to accurately (as much as possible) show what i have seen to be wrong with this.
Issue 1:
Dolphin's reflection gets drawn too high , and too much to the left:
(actual screenshot)

Notice the amount s of displacement coincide with the border effect in issue 2.

Cut out the "under water" bit of the dolphin and moved it the amount the borders on the sides are off , looks like a match to me.

Issue 2:
Transparent wave over the sand :
![[Image: 33ju1sn.png]](http://i25.tinypic.com/33ju1sn.png)
After wave has receded , the textures underneath where it was look fine :
![[Image: 2cylcnl.png]](http://i27.tinypic.com/2cylcnl.png)
Issue 3
In game with normal graphics looking at sunshine.. notice the top of the head of the main character is transparent.
![[Image: 6jm0eq.png]](http://i30.tinypic.com/6jm0eq.png)
Character select screen without textures , notice there are no polygons for the top of the head:
![[Image: 1ekmdj.png]](http://i31.tinypic.com/1ekmdj.png)
Again , without textures , on the boat , no polygons where the top of the head is.

I am confident these threads are not for advertising games , but are here to catalog issues that are currently still in the emulator , and hope specifying this helped a bit in determining the cause.

Yea man, same issues as yourself, regardless of settings or renderer. Hopefully these get resolved.

Just played in JITIL for 2 hours without any noticeable differences , errors or crashes. Hopefully this wasn't a fluke, and will allow people to play this a little faster. I don't want to cause any false hopes , and with this , ask whoever is reading this to give it a try themselves (I'm using darkshadw svn 5919)

Yes but on the sides of the screen in SMS.
Looks like you're using the widescreen hack. It's not always compatible with framebuffer-copy effects like this.

(But to make the screen watchable, you should still use 'force 16:9 aspect ratio'). I don't know if 5136+ builds have yet fixes for the other issues you mentioned, or whether they can be fixed merely by tweaking in graphics plugin settings
The land-water bug as you call it is never gone , not in 16:9 , not in 4:3 . Where i don't doubt your honesty , maybe you checked too hastily? There is no "wide screen hack" for wii , since the console has native 4:3 and 16:9 modes. So as far as I can tell the "hack" is intended for GC emulation primarily.
If you have successfully been able to fix the offset of the reflection effects in any way , I kindly ask to please contribute with exact settings and screenshots , thank you in advance for doing so. I am very curious about this.
Included : screenshot Wii emulation running in 4:3 mode.
Second screenshot is OpenGL , notice the borders are less thick (looks like it could be exactly half) in OpenGL , this might be a clue as to determin the origin , and possible fix. I will not assume anything but to me it looks like this could be resolved by finetuming some of the graphics plugin internals.
Please overlook the texture error on the water for the OpenGL screenshot , that's not what this comment is about. Green lines and arrows added to show thickness , and are not part of the actual screenshots.
