Quote: Thank goodness I'm not trying to run this on my Core 2 Duo E8400; speaking of which, how much better is a Core i7 2670QM from a performance standpoint (emulation-wise)? Stupid question I know, but I am curious.
Depends on what clock rate it's actually running at. The core i7 2670QM has a dynamic clock rate that ranges from 2.2GHz to 3.1GHz, use cpuz to see what clock rate it's running at while dolphin is running (playing a game).

Shame on you guys. You're missing out on a classic and arguably one of the greatest games ever made
I'm glad you finally got the game to run Nintendo'sNerd. It is, without a doubt, THE most demanding game on the GC side of Dolphin, so don't get to discouraged.
On the other hand, glad to know you got the game running but I get the impression you're not at all happy about it. I sense some dissatisfaction or bitterness in your posts even though the game is working for you now. Why is that?
If I was in your shoes, and was desperately trying to get F-ZeroGX running properly on my PC, and then after finally trying different things and getting people's advice I got it running well, I'd be jumping out of my seat and throwing my hands in the air, because I'd now be able to experience what it's like playing the best arcade racing game ever made at crazy high resolution and fantastic image quality.
Is this not how you feel Nintendo_Nerd?
The game runs fairly well for the most part, oddly enough, but Port City really slaughter the performance. Perhaps I should create a new thread lest I inadvertently deviate this thread even further.

Here is what the error message I get says, after it displays Dolphin crashes.

In general there is no need to disable Dual Core.
If someone know how to maximaze the emulation please help >_>, i dont now nothing about dolphin .__.

Dolphin downs after it.
Please help me!
I can confirm that the error only happens in the japanesse version of F-Zero GX.
What fixes it is enabling one of these options in the game settings:
- Enable MMU
or
- MMU speed hack
By the way, the game worked fine in 2.0. This should be added to the first post/wiki, I got crazy about why it didn't and I couldn't find any information about the subject (I guess not many japanesse people are around)

Dolphin 2.0 is an old version and old versions are no more supported on the forum
Just use the official dolphin 3.0 release or a new git version and you'll have support ^^
The point is that the NTSC-JAP version of F-Zero doesn't work without enabling MMU in any 3.xx version (I haven't tried all revisions, but it didn't work in any I tried).
I just commented about 2.0 because the game loads fine in that version, which in 3.xx doesn't.

Actually PAL version needs MMU Speed Hack too

Are you sure TLB Hack isn't checked into Properties?
TLB Hack is the equivalent of MMU

You are right, the PAL game gets configured by default with MMU enabled and dual core disabled.
The jap game isn't in the database, thus it hasn't predefined settings as the pal game does, so the "problem" is the japanesse version not being in the database.

I've checked 2.0 again and F-zero jap still boots fine with all options disabled.
Hello everyone,
UchihaSasuke from over at the Mrfixitonline F-Zero GX forums sent me over a dozen replays to try out on Dolphin. These are replays he made on a real GC. I tried them out in Dolphin(latest version from Lectrode) and they didn't play properly. Basically as soon as the 3,2,1 countdown finishes the screen fades white and returns you back to the Replay Data selection screen.
Uchi and I are certain this is a bug with the replay code in Dolphin, meaning replays made on a GC aren't functioning properly in Dolphin, and vice versa. To Skid or anyone else that worked on the emulation side, can you please look into this issue? There are tons of F-Zero GX replays that I would love to watch in Dolphin but can't because of the above described problem. Uchi is one of the world's TOP GX players and these replays contain some world record times!
The thread discussing the issue is here:
