Do you mean you can't even start the game?
If this is the case make sure that MMU Speed Hack is checked in Game Properties
Sorry, I get defensive with certain things, like my laptop, because I know I probably could have gone for a better choice, but being on a budget, I didn't. I only spent $840 for this laptop, but we should probably drop the hardware semantics discussion since it only seems to cause contention, but is someone going to answer my question or not? Why won't the sodding game work despite all the settings I change/reset? I've tried numerous ISO image rumps, numerous revisions of Dolphin and numerous changes to the settings and for what? Nothing, that's what. Yes, I know my CPU won't be as good as a Core i5 when it comes to using two cores or whatever, I do get full speed with most Wii and Gamecube games; I just want to play F-ZeroGX...is that too much
for me to ask?
Why are these emulators so hellbent on me not being able to launch the game? How is it that others can use it but I can't?

Well, sometimes I get to the first splash screen, most of the time I don't make it that far. It shows a black screen and the framerate count is at 0, then the emulator crashes and I'm force to kill the process tree in the task manager. Like I said, I've tried several combinations for configurations before, but I'll try it again.
I want to play this game, but it seems like it's a crime for wanting this game to run on this machine. But believe me, just be glad I didn't ask if Dolphin could be run on a AMD Athlon with an Intel HD2000 GPU.

OK. Just do that :
- Click right on your game (in your gamelist)
- Go into Properties
- Look for MMU Speed Hack
-
Check it if it's unchecked

And if it isn't? I'll post my settings momentarily, maybe that will help see the full story as to why the game doesn't load.
Edit 8:48AM - It's checked by default, so I unchecked it, but it only gets to the Sega/Nintendo splash screen.
Edi 9:09AM
HA! Finally got the game to load! MWAHAHAHAHA!!! What can I do to change the settings for performance?

Tried the official Dolphin 3.0?
In your situation you might try an older build. Just to see if it works

Updated post, I finally got the game to run, but the framerate is lacking. What settings should I use to help the speed?
Oh, wait, the GPU wasn't set to the GT555M, but now it is.
Edit2: WTF?! It doesn't save the settings for the GPU; it always defaults to Intel HD3000, despite having disabled it. Other programs load the GT555M just fine. When loading, it shows the Nvidia GPU, but when I go to the graphics settings a second time, it resets back to Intel.
There is a physical GPU switch, go the HD3000 is in fact set to "off" and the GT555M is on.

There isn't a lot of things you can do. F-Zero is a very demanding game. Your CPU is just a little bit weak for this game. However you can try to check VBeam in Game Properties (the same place you found MMU Speed Hack)

Downloaded nVidia inspector and the GT555M is indeed being used, despite the configuration window showing otherwise, so it's being used, but F-zero GX seems to be a pretty dang demanding game for Dolphin.
Should Accurate V-Beam emulation setting be a blue box or just a check mark?
Edit: Wow, major PEBKAC error on my part, the backend was set as DirectX 11 and not DirectX9, which kills performance, but now it says as the proper GPU. Man do I feel like a retard.
Why are the shadows jacked up?
sorry for being a jerk.

Btw you can check Disc Transfer too

You'll have to use EFB to RAM but it will slow down the game

It's fine, I'll deal with it; oddly enough, it'll hit 60 fps most of the time, but it will dip to around 55 or so. Thank goodness I'm not trying to run this on my Core 2 Duo E8400; speaking of which, how much better is a Core i7 2670QM from a performance standpoint (emulation-wise)? Stupid question I know, but I am curious.
