This games crashes right after I start race ~10 secinds into it. Runs 60 fps then freezes. If turn off daul core it works but its extremly slow.
I'm running Phenom ii 960t overclocked to 3.8 in Linux, I want to try it on the offical 3.0 stable but can not find the source to compile it.
EDIT: Got it working by turning off V-Sync! Played through Ruby with no problems! 60 FPS most of the time.
I was at work earlier and only skimmed posts in this topic. After reading every page until I reached about page 8, where people with the same issue posted so I disabled V-Sync and vola it works like a charm.
Worst it got as 30 FPS on the sand level. Im going to post my findings on the wiki, add the V-Sync and crashing issues, and link it to this topic ( if thats okay). This needs to be documented in the wiki, I always check those first when having trouble with a game.
I love this game!

have you even tried re-dumping? XD
Late reply, I know, I have tried dumps of this game numerous times, no luck. Default settings don't work, changing them around doesn't work; no matter which revision I use, the effing game still crashes after a couple of splash screens.
If someone could post their settings and what revision they're using, it would help a lot.
A Core-i7 26070QM with an nVidia GT555M is hardly considered to be low-end.

Nevertheless, that still shouldn't determine whether or not I can load the f***ing game. You should be glad I didn't ask if this game worked on an Intel IGP or an AMD Athlon with 1GB DDR RAM. I can run Soul Calibur 2, SSBM, SSBB, Sonic Adventure 1-2, all at full speed. The GT555M is ranked in the middle-high range GPUs.

Quad core CPUs are almost completely useless for Dolphin (unless LLE on Thread is used, which doesn't speed things up enough for a quad-core i7 to beat a dual-core i5 at a higher clock frequency). That is why he said it was low-end; it might have a great benchmark score because that scores how much your CPU can do including multithreaded power. Geekbench, for example, is stated to give you an idea of the "true power" of your computer by using however many cores it has (I think they said specifically it doesn't matter if it has 1 or 54 cores or something like that). This, imo, is misleading because most applications cannot be that multithreaded, and more cores ends up only really being useful for extreme multitasking and video-decoding kinda processes.

..........both of you need to read his posts better next time. He asked why it was crashing not why it was running slow. His specs don't matter as far as that is concerned so long as they meet the minimum requirements, which they do.
He then reiterated this point.
This is what he wants:
Good god, I can't believe I got dragged into posting in a game thread for a game I don't have.

I don't have it either. I just wanted to clear up the confusion that the guy had over how powerful his CPU was, since he stated that it was a high-end CPU, I corrected him.

Well, he clearly doesnt agree with you and doubt he will. Notebookwise he has a decent setup but lets not make this a laptop vs desktop thread.
