i cant buy anything with the latest version what must i doo?

I have a problem at chaper 1-1 where I have to use Tippi's power in a room.
I am using R3442 and also R3402, the game works perfect.
I am using the real wiimote, and i got all settings just as recommended for this game.
The only thing I am not using is a infrared sensor bar, I didn't need it yet.
Do i necessarily need an infrared sensor bar to use Tippi's power?
Or is there another way to get around this?

It also works with the mouse if you're playing without a real wiimote, so if you have a wiimote but no extra sensor bar for your PC, you could switch back to not using the wiimote for a bit.
