Help, none of them SSE versions work on my PC. I click on them, and the program is not responding message appears.
I'm not sure what SSE runs on my PC. I tried the program and it says SSE1, 2, 3, 4A.
Alright so that I will not mess up again, the only way to see if there is any difference was for me to really compare everything and not half ass this thing. I think I fell for the placebo affect. Doing a complete test of my system. No big change in spellforces build to anyone elses outside of xtremex which always has run 5-10 fps slower for me. They are pretty much identical. . Spellforces builds are nice but in the end i'm leaning toward a placebo effect now. Still, great work and 5006m still runs faster then any other build I have gotten but as I've told spellforce, his compiles always worked faster for me. I don't think his optimizations are the reasoning behind my small speed boost as I first got the little speed boost before he even made this thread on optimizations.
To really compare anything its pretty much pointless to show pictures but here we go anyway.
I ran everything the exact same. The only way to even see a difference here was to turn framelimiter off.
SVN 5037 (easiest to due)
Here is the base Mamario Build

These would be pretty big so I did not place them as images you can see. You have to click lol sorry.
In the end, I believe I fell for the placebo effect since overall spells base builds worked a bit faster for me before any of this "optimization" or sse3 sse4.1 builds came around. If you wanna compare some of those actual gameplays then you can always watch a youtube video I made which I have used spell builds for a while. If you have a computer similiar to mine you might see the increase in comparison to a build you are using in that aspect. Overall though, whatever slight speedups we experience would be almost 100% unable to determine unless there were major increases throughout. For me atleast, spells builds in general keep up there speeds at spots where others have dropped in fps some. For instance, excitebots has many spots where fps drops 5-10 fps but by using spells builds I use only 1-2 fps in race. De blob also runs faster for me on his build then on mamario and both faster then xtremes. For me in general and not do to any of this optimization it has been for me Spellforce then Mamario/ Whitezero (Still respected whatcha did) followed by Krypking then xtreme with any build I make dead last since I would screw up many times lol.
I haven't notice any difference yet. My comparison are based of actual gameplay not menu's. also I test them at same spot over and over again to make sure that they both benefit from texture caching. I appreciate spellforce for bring this up though. I thought I'd be able to get some speed boost for some of the games that i cant run full speed. I've tried messing around with a lot of option and so far no benefit. I'm now gonna try to select every option that has the word Speed and Fast on them to see if its going to help.
(02-10-2010, 09:36 AM)TyphooN Wrote: [ -> ]Heres my results. VC++ compile, spellforce compile, my ICC compile(with different optimizations enabled than his). In short, on NSMBW I get:
VC++: 42 FPS
spellforce: 31 FPS
my ICC compile: 35 FPS
I'm not sure if it's just this game, but I really wish I was seeing results. I am using a Q6600 @ 3.6GHz, 4GB ram, and Radeon 4870. Both ICC builds are SSE3. I just am not seeing any spots in the games that I have that slow down besides NSMBW.
it funny you see every pics has 100% full speed it's means you cap the speed.then you will not know the max fps.
i have an intel core 2 duo e8200, i tried with the ssee3 and ssee4.1 versions and both worked with 20 fps less than normal builds
someone knows why?
maybe im using it the wrong way?

Maybe you are using OpenGL instead of Direct3D, change it on Config -> Plugins-> Graphics -> Dolphin Direct3D9

Why does that matter? I am not even getting Full fps (60). The game slows down, and it is not running at 100% despite what the vps says. The gameplay slows down.
because dolphin cap speed by vps=60 not fps

nope, im using direct3d
btw, spellforce wich revisions do you recomend for core 2duo e8xxx users
