core 2 duo e7400 @2.8ghz, 2gb ram, gforce 9600.
default settings.

Default Direct 3D?
because EFB copy to ram is much slower than EFB copy to texture.
Yeah, the game is really demanding. We should move this discussion to the official game thread though: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-357.html
I'm not sure what you mean when you say "the game is really demanding". It's not like the game is running off of different hardware then all other GC games. What I think you mean to say is that the game is more demanding because the code is not complete?
Well incomplete code is a part of it, but a game of wii play with minimal graphics has nothing on say, fully detailed 3d environments and 30 racers.

Some games only use a small fraction of the GC's power, like PC Genjin or Puzzle Bobble, while others really max it out. The latter games, like F-Zero, will of course demand more of your PC.
@Ector: Would you consider Zelda WW to be using all of the GC's power and would that game be considered very demanding due to its large world and 3D rendering, I would? That game runs at full speed due to (in my opinion) there is more correct code in place to allow it to run well, unlike F-Zero.

Hopefully it doesn't seem like I'm trying to argue with you or give you the impression that I know more about this than you do, but I am trying to learn a bit more about this stuff and this is what makes sense to me, so take what I said as a question more than a statement.

I lurk these forums, and I regularly check dolphin updates, and I gotta say, the only reason I checked the forums was to get a release of the latest dolphin because there was an update on F-Zero GX, and I saw this thread.

Basically, I second the idea of working on F-Zero related problems, because alot of other popular games work, and F-Zero is an awesome game. I am not trying to be whiny, I just want to say keep up the great work!

Didn't you notice that it's actually working? Go check the game thread in the Game Discussion subforum.

Now we just need to make it fast Smile
Looks like this has been covered but I'm only getting about 30-40% speed on the game on my machine. So for me, unplayable for now. I'm sure they'll address the speed soon. Can't wait!!! This is my favorite GC game!Heart

Yeah, I was saying that we should keep working on what minor bugs are left, like optimizing the speed ...unless its completely optimized. Though I get the impression that the dolphin can make it run at full speed.

...I sound like such a fanboy with the name BlueFalcon7, and talking about F-Zero Tongue
