Excuse my ignorance, but I've been reading about how the Wii is incapable of outputting Hd content such as 720p and 1080p resolutions while the dolphin is able to. Now the question is; Why would Nintendo waste their time and money creating hd compatible software such as their games which cannot be seen by its Wii users, only by us the dolphin users. In other words why don't they instead make lesser quality 3d models and such, if that was the case we Dolphin users would be seeing really crappy images at 1080p.
Technically, an N64 emulator can do HD content too, just because 3d graphics are scalable.
The irony is that games designers have gone that step further but the wii's hardware hasn't.
Nintendo just wanted to offer a cheap system, they actually wanted a $100 games system, but had to up the price with hardware like NAND flash.
And apparently recycling the gamecube architecture and somewhat improving the hardware was cheap too.
It's all about cheap cheap cheap.

Patience Nintendo will do it eventually when they feel like their ready to give non dolphin users Mario, Link and Samus in 1080p high definition till then Dolphin is your only option unless Nintendo pull a Sony like move and give us a game in 1080i like Sony did for GTAIII on PS2

I don't think it's true HD, just 480p with a 16:9 aspect ratio and smoothed out graphics... It's too bad the Wii has a horrible GPU and no component or HDMI output

It's even worse , They can't even add new features to old game because of the way the wii functions , just read this

Bottom line: Nintendo Sucks only surviving because game developers and us don't have a heart to dump their ass.
lets see what happens when (if) Wii2 comes out.
