So long as you don't overwrite your user folder, you'll be fine.

damn i knew the r5000 was going to be a big update looks like i was right.t it looks like an overall improvement. i hope it runs faster!
After testing about 35 games so far, there doesn't seem to be that much concrete improvement.
The big feature of 5000 rev would be the successful addition of Anti-Alias rendering.
Turning on 16xAA in the options makes a stunning difference. Some games look spectacular, even rivalling or bettering PS3 graphics.
