It is possible to edit this flag after the fact using a hex editor, but if you're getting desyncs when you manually delete your save before playing the movie, you'll get desyncs with this as well. You'll most likely need to redo your TAS.

Why wasn't that necessary with Sonic and the Black Knight? No matter how often I play back the file, there's never any save file (despite them being present in the corresponding folder).

Currently playing Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz. Each time I play the .dtm file, my hiscores are wiped and the game starts fresh also.

I'm not sure if I'm ever able to get a synced TAS file with games where I have to manually delete the save. I'll keep on trying different games though -- but it's almost as if deleting the files messes up the seed in which the game is started and gives it a completely different RNG.

You must have had the save file deleted when you first created the DTM file.

Yes, if you had a save file when you first created the DTM file, deleting the save file afterwards is almost certain to cause a desync (either due to RNG or due to other reasons).
I really hope what you're saying is true! I'll re-record Action Gurlz Racing today by removing the save files and starting the TAS right away. I can't actually remember if I booted the game without TAS started last time.

Okay Jos I had another run with it and I'm VERY pleasantly surprised you're 100% correct!! I made sure to remove the save file folder of Action Girlz Racing and then started the .dtm file and the whole thing played just fine. I've since then tested it on two other games and they're fine too. I'm somewhat curious to test it out with $1,000,000 Pyramid as that one saves to a .bin file.. but I can't be bothered running through that game again right now.

I've played games with different control schemes and they all synced fine, even ones that use the Wii pointer. I've only used an USB controller so far though and haven't experimented with bluetooth.

Will be playing around with a load of titles over the next few months and report back on a new thread if I encounter anything. As always, thanks for the fantastic work that's being done here.
