sure, with my 8600GTS, i see no speed loss with 1366x768 2xAA from normal res. altho, if you have games that run slow, don't expect them to run magically fast once grafx is installed Tongue
I can play SMG 35-60fps with frameskip to 1. the game is ultra playable Big Grin
most of the time fps are at the 45-50s Smile
altho some titles are slow Tongue
So.....waiting for the year to end...

(i don't have enough money to buy it now...)(not even $250)...Angry

250$ is enough for 8800 :/ it costs 200$
but EVEN with an GTS 8600 you're gonna be fine to play in 720p.
this card cost me only 80$ Big Grin ka-ching
EDIT: 8800 ultra(why do you even need that much???): http://www.amazon.com/Geforce-8800-Ultra-Oc-768MB/dp/B000QMV0A6
8600GTS: http://www.a-link.ca/itemdetail.asp?itemid=4379
Why you waste so much money to buy an old card 8800GT.My 9800Gt is stronger than that one and only 120-150USD(ship included)

There's no big difference between a 9800GT and an 8800GT. They both use the same G92 core and the performance difference is very little . Check out many Benchmarking out there , the performance is basically the same .

As for the price $200 is way too much for a 8800 GT I don't think that is the price on these days.

Arpit, If your brother sells it for more than $ 100 I would go with a new 9800 GT as it says admin, cheap cost but performance is similar.
