Alright, I spent today setting up homebrew on my Wii U and vWii system on said Wii U. I was using a SD card that im borrowing from my brother, and he wanted it back, so would I be able to use a 64gb USB thumb drive, could i just copy all the homebrew files from the sd onto the thumb drive and then plug it into one of the front usb ports next to the SD slot

No. You need SD card only to homebrew Wii U.

The homebrew channel itself can load apps off of the USB drive https://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Ch...g_from_USB
Although it's possible that some homebrew will expect files on the SD card only.
