Hi,
I did a search and only found one post that did not have an answer. I bought some wiimotes on amazon, and they refuse to connect to the bluetooth (I think they are off brand). I have one OEM wiimote and it works fine. Has anyone had luck with getting off-brand wiimotes connected to dolphin? I appreciate any help in advance

Hopefully I wont have to try and return these.

I just tried that driver and walkthrough, it installed but then my OEM controller stopped working. I also tried the bluetooth passthrough mode, but got a windows error box saying I don't have a compatible bluetooth connection. Maybe the bluetooth adapter is bad? Not sure if I should replace that or the amazon controllers. Thanks for your help

Do you know what bluetooth adapter you have?

How are you trying to connect these? Once the driver has been replaced, all you should have to do make sure "Passthrough a Bluetooth adapter" is selected under the controller settings, and the launch a game. Once the game is launched you can open the controller settings again and click the sync button
You can also setup a hotkey for syncing, I find that super useful. I've done this with a ton adapters, there was one adapter I had where I had to force the adapter in Dolphin. If you haven't done that it's worth a try. You can read about that here:

Otherwise I'd say it's just the adapter as they're not all compatible, but I have found it's the only way to get non official controllers working. Good luck

Yeah ive tried both methods, when i force the install with the zadig program I lose connection with the one controller that works and when I use the passthrough option I get this error when loading any rom. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy used official controllers, I could get another bluetooth dongle, but would rather get it working with all the features and not use the passthrough. Funny thing is the one controller that works is also non-OEM, but older, and checked the product page and the amazon controllers are non motion plus models. If anyone else is looking for controllers, i would recommend against these ones. Maybe with a better or compatible bluetooth adapter i could get the passthrough working, but it works otherwise for the one controller in the normal mode. Also the non-OEM controller also shows up in the bluetooth in windows, havent been able to do that with these new controllers. Thanks for the troubleshooting help, it is much appreciated!

You seem to be implying that passthrough is inferior, when that’s not the case at all. Passthrough is the preferred option because it operates as an actual Wii operates, with the controller synched directly to the game itself. For games that make heavy use of motion plus (like Skyward Sword) passthrough is noticeably superior.
Well, from a quick glance at the Amazon user reviews for this dongle, it seems to be based on the Broadcomm BCM20702 chipset, and accordingly to the BT adapter test results we have for that chipset, the HW IDs for those adapters needs to be manually configured in Dolphin for Bluetooth Passthrough to work. Please refer to
this section for more details.

Dolphin's default "emulate a BT adapter" mode is only guaranteed to work with genuine Nintendo Wiimotes, 3rd party models may or may not work (most don't). Since the Wiimotes you bought didn't work with the default connection mode, Bluetooth Passthrough is your only option. You should be able to use it after doing what I mentioned earlier...
Ended up going and editing the ini, converting hex to decimal, just have a different error now. If both are available, which is preferable, passthrough or emulated?
